ABOUT APPLY DIGITAL

Apply Digital is a global digital transformation partner for change agents. Leveraging expertise that spans Business Transformation Strategy, Product Design & Development, Commerce, Platform Engineering, Data Intelligence, Marketing Services, Change Management, and beyond, we enable our clients to modernize their organizations and deliver meaningful impact to their business and customers.

Our 750+ team members have helped transform global companies like Kraft Heinz, NFL, Moderna, Lululemon, Dropbox, Atlassian, A+E Networks, and The Very Group.

Apply Digital was founded in 2016 in Vancouver, Canada. In the past nine years, we have grown to nine cities across North America, South America, the UK, and Europe.

At Apply Digital, we believe in the “One Team” approach, where we operate within a ‘pod’ structure. Each pod brings together senior leadership, subject matter experts, and cross-functional skill sets, all working within a common tech and delivery framework. This structure is underpinned by well-oiled scrum and sprint cadences, keeping teams in step to release often and retrospectives to ensure we progress toward the desired outcomes.

Wherever we work in the world, we envision Apply Digital as a safe, empowered, respectful, and fun community for people, every single day. Together, we work to embody our SHAPE (smart, humble, active, positive, and excellent) values and make Apply Digital a space for our team to connect, grow, and support each other to make a difference.

ABOUT US:

Apply Digital’s Marketing Services division is a rapidly expanding full-service Martech team with team members in the US, Europe, LATAM, and Asia. As a personalization agency, we bridge the gap between creative, marketing, and strategy. We specialize in cross-channel content strategy, creation, and distribution (email, paid social, push, SMS), and MarTech implementations. We work with 50+ clients, ranging in size from companies like YETI, Upside, and Nutrafol to established marquee brands like A+E Networks, Afterpay, and Stanley Black & Decker.

We are looking to bring on a Freelance Marketing Strategy Consultant to provide strategic support for our top-tier clients.

You’ll engage with internal cross-functional partners and with clients to ensure client business objectives are translated into actionable and impactful digital cross-channel strategies with clear measurements of success and high-quality standards for execution.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Work directly with Ragnarok clients by providing them with strategic planning, ideation, and optimizing new cross-channel (email, web, push, social, SMS, etc.) campaign programs, personalization initiatives, and overall marketing calendar planning, primarily for lifecycle and retention programs, along with writing briefs and approving all created assets.
  • Ensure all recommendations have a clear and concise methodology and are appropriately sized for impact, ease of execution, and confidence in results.
  • Continually track and develop a clear record of incremental revenue sourced from Ragnarok-owned initiatives.
  • Develop strong relationships and rapport with clients, instilling confidence in agency work, advocacy, and referrals.
  • Serve as a supporting resource for project extensions and renewals.
  • Participate in sales pitches and scoping conversations - serving as a multi-channel growth subject matter expert and helping to identify the appropriate level of effort required to support initiatives.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

  • 8+ years of experience strategizing for top-tier brands and/or clients (agency experience not required but is preferred).
  • A solid track record of growth marketing successes, and hands-on platform experience with automation tools such as (Iterable, Braze, Segment, Klaviyo, Customer.io, etc.).
  • Has extensive knowledge in email, SMS, and push channels, as well as top-of-funnel experience.
  • A hands-on approach that delivers sharp strategic insights for clients.
  • Have a strong technical edge and a finger on the pulse of trends as it relates to consumer behavior, cross-channel marketing, growth strategies, and all things technology and digital.

NICE TO HAVE'S:

  • Has superior written skills, epic organization, email etiquette, and communication skills.
  • Has excellent attention to detail, with the ability to read through emails and documents and fully take in all information and break it down into tasks.
  • Has worked in project management tools.
  • Worked in an organization that has multiple teams and can communicate well cross-functionally.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
