THE POSITION
Overview
Boyd Interactive is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to join our Finance team to provide support to our Finance department. This role is responsible for financial planning, analysis, forecasting, and reporting to support strategic decision-making across the organization. This role is responsible for managing and preparing financial planning, analysis and reporting to support strategic decision – making.
Sr. Financial Analyst has strong analytical skills, experience in corporate finance and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights. Act as a trusted advisor by offering data driven insights to guide decision making for executive leadership team, provides support in preparation of financial reports and metrics for analysis, ensuring that all financial reporting and transactions are following and in compliance with organizational and regulatory financial policies, standards and controls.
Responsibilities
- Performs day-to-day funding and treasury related activities.
- Collects and maintains financial data to advise and support business objectives
- Assists with preparation of financial reports and metrics for analysis.
- Analyzes and interprets financial data to advise and support strategic decision-making and achieve business objectives
- Updates and maintains financial internal dashboards for leadership team insight
- Tracks variances between financial projections and actual results to identify and troubleshoot differences and recommend adjustments or improvements.
- Utilizes financial modeling and analytical tools to measure and forecast the impact of various economic scenarios, risks, and business changes
- Prepares financial and operational analysis and reporting required for ad-hoc, daily, month end, quarterly and year-end purposes
- Prepares cash flow analyses, and other financial reports to assess company performance and financial state
- Primarily responsible for analyzing data related to payment providers including Visa, MC, Paypal, etc, and acts as liaison between the company and payment providers
- Supports month-end and quarter-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
- Performs reconciliations across accounts and systems
- Prepares and properly document journal entries, as needed
- Prepares and track accruals and accrual entries, as needed
- Prepares interfaces to the client’s system (where required) and proper reconciliations.
- Special projects and other functions as required
Education & Certification/License Credentials
- Bachelor's Degree in appropriate field of study, college or university diploma in Finance, Commerce, Economics, Accounting or a related field (MBA or CPA a plus)
- 5 – 8 years of progressive work experience required in financial planning and analysis, or equivalent combination of education and work experience in financial analysis
Functional Competencies – Skills, Knowledge, & Experience
- Strong knowledge of financial statements and GAAP
- Excellent analytical, problem – solving and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under tight deadlines
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Familiarity with SQL or data querying tools
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills, experience with tools like Power BI is a plus
- Proficient with other Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint), Workday
