The Opportunity:

We’re looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to join our Finance team.

Reporting to the Director, Financial Planning & Analysis, the Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for the delivery of services and accountabilities for the FP&A team and providing financial support to the shared services business units. This role will deliver on tasks for budget and forecast preparation, shared service model, internal reporting (including project reporting), business pricing model and business decision support initiatives. The Senior Financial Analyst provides financial support to the shared service business units relating to the detailed budgeting process and analysis of key business metrics and drivers. This role will also support certain aspects of the accounting month-end and year-end close process as it relates to allocations and ensuring proper classification of expenses (will require creating and posting journal entries in the accounting general ledger). Strong business acumen, ability to influence and make sound recommendations as well as build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders are key success factors for this role. As required, the role will also support the Vice-President, Financial Planning & Analysis in forecasting activities.

What your day looks like:

  • Support the preparation and validation of inputs to the forecast as well as analyzing the impact of business decisions across the lines of businesses and support functions
  • Prepare the monthly Executive Report package including analysis on key financial metrics and performance
  • Maintain and protectively improve financial models to enhance and streamline existing processes to analyze monthly financial results
  • Maintain FP&A systems, namely Workday Adaptive Planning
  • Preparation and/or review of monthly accounting allocation entries and variance analysis, including trade cost
  • Prepare monthly project budget reporting including capitalization rates and other analysis
  • Provide financial decision support to shared services, including key trends, metrics and business drivers to inform decision making in support of achieving operational and strategic objectives
  • Analyze complex financial information to provide accurate and timely financial recommendations to management for decision making purposes
  • Support the preparation of financial analysis on new lines of business, product development and pricing decisions
Requirements

Your experience and skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field, MBA an asset
  • Professional designation (CA, CGA, CMA / CPA, CFA)
  • A minimum of 3 years progressive experience in financial roles, preferably within the wealth management industry
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel including data modelling and power query knowledge
  • Experience with Workday Adaptive Planning is highly preferred
  • Working knowledge of SQL is an asset
  • Highly analytical and detail-oriented
  • Exceptional organizational skills and ability to prioritize and handle multiple simultaneous assignments
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Proven ability to anticipate business needs and priorities, working with all levels of management and employees
  • Demonstrated willingness to roll-up sleeves and work with team members in a hands-on management capacity
  • Ability to thrive in a past-paced performance-driven environment, dealing with ambiguity and change
  • Fluent communication skills in English are required and bilingual skills in French are an asset

Salary

This position is posted with an expected salary range of $93,000 - $113,000 CAD annually. Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate and the requirements of the position.
