The Job
The Senior Financial Analyst supports Operations by managing the financial performance of our service business. This role focuses on gross margin, field service costs, and performance guarantee liabilities.
You will work directly with operational data to understand what is driving costs, identify risks, and improve forecasting accuracy. This is a hands-on role for someone who is comfortable working with detailed data, building models, and owning results.
What You'll Do

- Own monthly gross margin analysis for field services, hardware, and performance payouts.
- Explain differences between forecast and actual results and identify root causes.
- Build and maintain driver-based models, including shortfall liability and reserve forecasts.
- Run sensitivity analysis to evaluate risks and support investment decisions.
- Partner with Residential and Commercial Operations leaders on cost performance.
- Analyze technician productivity, vendor costs, and key drivers of service expenses.
- Define and track operational metrics that impact gross margin.
- Support Board and Quarterly Business Review materials with clear, data-backed insights.
- Ensure operational data from Salesforce and field systems ties to financial results.
- Work with Accounting to ensure job costs, recoveries, and reserves are recorded correctly.
- Improve data quality, reporting processes, and financial visibility as the business grows.
- Lead ad hoc analysis across Revenue or OpEx as needed.

Who You Are
- Strong ownership mindset and attention to detail.
- Comfortable working with large, imperfect datasets and resolving discrepancies.
- Able to move between detailed analysis and clear communication.
- Curious about operational drivers and focused on understanding the “why” behind results.
Experience You’ll Need
- 5+ years in FP&A, Transaction Services (Big 4 or Banking), or Corporate Finance
- Advanced Excel skills and experience building complex, driver-based models.
- Experience analyzing margins, job costing, unit economics, or project-level profitability.
- Experience working with ERP/CRM systems (NetSuite, Salesforce, or similar).
- Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, or similar).
Experience That’s a Plus
- Experience in renewable energy, field services, HVAC, or logistics.
- Experience in a high-growth or operationally complex environment.
- Familiarity with subscription or performance-based revenue models.
