Role Description

Executive Recruiting is a specialized team within Dropbox’s Global Recruiting Organization, focused on building world-class leadership talent strategies. As an Executive Sourcer, you will play a critical role in identifying, engaging, and cultivating top-tier executive-level talent across all functional areas, including but not limited to Engineering, Product, Design, Sales, Marketing, Finance, Legal, and People teams.

This is a high-impact opportunity to develop and scale innovative sourcing strategies, partner with senior stakeholders, and build strong talent pipelines that directly influence Dropbox’s ability to deliver on its mission of designing a more enlightened way of working.

Responsibilities
  • Design and execute targeted sourcing strategies for Director and VP-level roles across all corporate and technical functions.
  • Partner closely with Executive Recruiters and hiring leaders to conduct kickoff meetings, define job and candidate profiles, and qualify and present executive talent.
  • Research and map industries and companies to identify key leadership talent; drive outreach through passive sourcing, competitive intelligence, and targeted engagement.
  • Build and maintain a diverse, long-term pipeline of potential executive candidates aligned to Dropbox’s future talent needs.
  • Develop relationships with passive and active candidates, ensuring a high-touch, personalized, and values-aligned experience throughout.
  • Track and report on sourcing progress, talent market trends, and candidate feedback to executive stakeholders.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Employer Brand, People Analytics, and Business Leaders to continually optimize sourcing approaches.
Requirements
  • At least 5 years of experience in sourcing and/or executive recruiting, either in-house or with an executive search firm
  • Proven track record of identifying and engaging passive senior leadership talent (Manager+ and above) across multiple corporate functions
  • Ability to translate business needs into search strategies and market-informed talent profiles
  • Strong data orientation; experience using insights and reporting to influence decisions and refine sourcing tactics
  • Excellent communication, multitasking, and organizational skills
  • Ability to operate independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Proficiency in integrating AI tools into sourcing workflows, with a strong preference for candidates who proactively leverage AI to streamline research, engagement, and talent intelligence gathering
  • Demonstrated ability to approach the candidate journey as a product, applying product management principles (e.g., journey mapping, prioritization, stakeholder alignment) to optimize executive search and engagement strategies
  • Familiarity with design thinking methodologies to deeply understand candidate and stakeholder needs, prototype sourcing solutions, and iterate based on data to enhance outreach effectiveness and experience quality
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in both in-house corporate and executive search firm environments (a mix is ideal, but either is acceptable)
  • Proven success sourcing at Director and VP levels across multiple functions
  • Background in fast-paced or “building” environments, with a track record of establishing new processes in collaboration with recruiting partners
  • Strong proficiency in reporting and talent analytics to inform strategy and drive decisions

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
