Job Summary:

As Drata scales, we're looking for a strategic, operationally stellar Sr. Executive Business Partner to support our CEO & Co-Founder. This role sits at the heart of Drata's operational engine: translating vision into action, keeping the executive team and internal teams aligned, and giving our CEO the space to lead with clarity and momentum.

You'll thrive here if you lead with relationships, build trust quickly with everyone from the executive team to board members and investors, and don't take yourself too seriously even when the pace picks up. The CEO's office moves fast and deals with a lot of ambiguity, so we're looking for someone comfortable making calls with incomplete information, adapting as priorities shift, and pulling people together rather than working in isolation. We're also looking for genuine enthusiasm about where AI is headed and how it can reshape executive operations; someone excited to bring new AI tools into the day-to-day of the CEO's office, not just tolerate them.

What you'll do:

Strategic Leadership & Executive Support

  • Partner directly with the CEO to advance strategic initiatives, assess risks, and keep priorities aligned with Drata's mission and growth objectives.

  • Anticipate leadership needs and proactively remove barriers to enable fast, informed decisions.

  • Prioritize and manage critical issues, surfacing the information that guides executive action.

  • Prepare data-backed briefings, presentations, and materials for executive, internal, and investor meetings.

  • Facilitate clear communication between the CEO, executive team, and external stakeholders.

Operational Leadership & Business Continuity

  • Manage day-to-day operations of the CEO's office, keeping decision-making, prioritization, and problem-solving on track.

  • Act as the CEO's trusted proxy during key periods or transitions.

  • Partner with Finance and Legal on the CEO's office budget, approvals, and resource allocation, using automation where it helps.

  • Support planning and execution of leadership offsites, company all-hands, and other high-visibility moments.

Organizational Performance & Strategic Execution

  • Design and implement work plans that move the needle on company-wide goals.

  • Support the creation, tracking, and analysis of company OKRs and KPIs with the executive team.

  • Monitor milestones across departments and recommend course corrections to optimize outcomes.

  • Lead or support special projects, including M&A, reorganizations, and cross-functional automation efforts, from discovery to execution.

  • Support headcount planning, org design, and onboarding programs with the People team.

  • Own the agenda for executive staff meetings and track completion of pre-work.

Cross-Functional Leadership & Collaboration

  • Act as a strategic connector across teams, translating executive priorities into coordinated action.

  • Structure leadership meetings, offsites, and planning sessions to build shared vision and outcomes.

  • Meet regularly with cross-functional leaders to keep everyone aligned on the CEO's goals and OKRs.

  • Maintain an active pulse on the State of the State; bringing actionable information and insights to the CEO in a timely manner.

Data, Reporting & Continuous Improvement

  • Oversee performance reporting and data insights that support executive decision-making.

  • Use tools like Slack Workflows, Zapier, and other automation platforms to streamline operations.

  • Champion continuous improvement and change management efforts across the organization.

Communication & Stakeholder Management

  • Draft and coordinate internal and external communications on behalf of the CEO, including company-wide updates.

  • Ghostwrite executive communications and craft strategic messaging in the CEO's voice.

  • Serve as a liaison for investors, board members, customers, and press/analysts as needed.

  • Identify and escalate communication gaps quickly.

Executive Office Management & Travel

  • Manage the CEO's calendar with precision, balancing meeting priorities with travel and high-impact events.

  • Handle timely submission of the CEO's expenses and track related spend.

  • Some travel required for board meetings, investor events, and leadership offsites, including to Drata's San Francisco HQ.

What you'll bring:

  • High emotional intelligence, resilience, sound judgment, and a sense of humor.

  • A warm, energizing relationship-builder who earns trust quickly with the CEO, executive team, board members, and investors alike, and keeps teams aligned amid ambiguity or shifting priorities.

  • 8+ years of executive support experience in a SaaS or high-growth startup environment, including direct experience supporting a CEO or other C-level executive.

  • 4+ years of leadership experience managing business operations or executive support programs across multiple functions and time zones.

  • Experience supporting board and investor relations with a high degree of discretion and professionalism.

  • Expertise building and scaling operational frameworks, including OKRs, org planning, and SOPs, for a high-growth organization.

  • A track record leading cross-functional initiatives, including M&A, reorganizations, and automation implementations.

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to ghostwrite executive communications and craft strategic messaging.

  • Tech-savvy, with hands-on experience using tools like Slack, Zapier, Claude, ChatGPT, or Glean to work faster and smarter.

  • Passion for GRC, cybersecurity, compliance, and Drata's mission to build trust across the internet.

The expected base salary range for this role is between $150,000 - $230,000 and is listed to provide transparency. Actual base pay will vary based on multiple factors — market location, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and overall alignment to the role. Candidates shouldn't expect automatic placement at any particular point within the range. Offer amounts are determined by the qualifications each candidate brings to the position. Total compensation may also include equity designed to provide meaningful ownership in the company, as well as health and wellbeing benefits.
