We’re a simple-to-use photo documentation and productivity app for contractors of all commercial and home services industries. Packed with intuitive functionality, CompanyCam facilitates unparalleled communication and accountability across a contractor’s entire business. We’re committed to providing a consumer-grade, game-changing experience that helps our users build trust within their company and with their customers.
But don’t let that corporate description fool you—the people behind our buttoned-up product are laid-back (but hardworking), genuine, and kickass, and you could be one of them!
We’re looking for a strategic, people-first, results-driven Senior Engineering Manager to join our engineering leadership team.
As a Senior Engineering Manager, you’ll lead multiple teams to build great software and deliver meaningful business outcomes. You’ll be responsible for coaching and growing engineers and tech leads, helping teams navigate ambiguity, and driving delivery with a focus on impact and quality. You’ll partner closely with other leaders across Engineering, Product, and Design to shape priorities, foster collaboration, and eliminate blockers.
Most importantly, you’ll help level up our engineering organization—whether that’s by mentoring other leaders, leading cross-team initiatives, refining hiring practices, or just modeling what good leadership looks like. We’re looking for someone who’s excited to invest in both people and systems, and who knows that building great teams is just as important as shipping great code.
Working At CompanyCamOur engineering team is remote-first, spanning every time zone in the United States. We welcome people from all backgrounds and really don't care whether or not you have a CS degree or even a high school diploma. All that matters is that you're not an a**hole and you're good at what you do.
At CompanyCam we’re driven to produce work with meaningful outcomes. That means not just dumping features and “improvements” but being able to reflect and learn from our outputs. We’re actively working to center our work on continuous discovery habits (CDH) as outlined by Teresa Torres.
Okay, that’s how we identify work to do, but how do we actually work? Our teams are made up of a product manager, a product designer, a tech lead, and an appropriate number of engineers for the scope of your team. We take a flexible approach to process, pulling from Agile, Scrum, Kanban, and even Shape Up. Rather than being overly prescriptive, we provide guardrails and just enough constraints to keep teams moving. Each team is expected to collaborate, iterate, and refine their best practices to produce high-quality work.
What You’ll Do- Lead multiple engineering teams, supporting 8–12 engineers through coaching, feedback, and thoughtful career development
- Partner with cross-functional leaders to define team goals, align on priorities, and ensure high-impact, high-quality delivery
- Mentor tech leads and help shape technical direction—guiding teams to make sound architectural decisions and invest wisely in long-term health
- Foster a healthy team culture grounded in trust, psychological safety, continuous learning, and clear communication
- Identify and clear roadblocks to execution, while making sure engineers are focused on the right problems with the right context
- Drive clear communication across technical and non-technical partners, effectively bridging gaps of understanding and explaining complex concepts in accessible ways
- Support hiring and onboarding by owning interview processes, growing your team intentionally, and setting new engineers up for success
- Drive cross-team initiatives that improve how our engineering org operates—from process improvements to better collaboration patterns
At CompanyCam, your work makes a real impact. Whether you're writing code, supporting customers, or designing experiences, your contributions directly shape the product we deliver and the people we serve. We're building something that helps real people solve real problems—and we believe that kind of work is best done by a team that reflects the world around us. In this role, you’ll drive impact:
- Teams you lead will ship smarter, faster, and more reliably—delivering meaningful business value without burning out
- Engineers will grow in their careers and feel supported, engaged, and excited to do their best work
- Your leadership will shape a culture of ownership, curiosity, and craftsmanship across the org
- Technical quality will improve, with thoughtful tradeoffs made between speed, maintainability, and long-term vision
Must haves:
- Show up: Give us your best and have the courage to do difficult but necessary stuff
- Grow up: Be humble, take responsibility, learn continuously, and have a growth mindset
- Do good: Treat your co-workers and customers the way you want to be treated
- 3+ years of experience managing people in a team context, including managing large teams and/or multiple teams at once
- Experience working as a senior software engineer
- Strong experience interviewing and hiring software engineers
- Experience with product development
- Experience helping Engineering departments scale
- Growth mindset, adaptability, and a knack for creativity and innovation
Nice-to-haves:
- Familiarity with Continuous Discovery Habits
- Experience with React, React Native, and/or Ruby on Rails
