  • Partner with Operations and Service Management teams to continuously improve incident response effectiveness, escalation processes, operational readiness and service resilience.

Observability, Resilience and Peak Readiness

  • Drive a consistent observability strategy across metrics, logs, traces, dashboards and alerting, with a focus on actionable signals and early detection.
  • Lead capacity planning, performance engineering, failure-mode analysis, disaster recovery and resilience testing for critical services and customer journeys.
  • Own operational readiness for campaigns, product launches and seasonal peaks, ensuring risks, dependencies, capacity and recovery plans are understood and tested.
  • Improve deployment safety through automated quality gates, progressive delivery, rollback and recovery capabilities, and strong change governance.
  • Ensure business continuity and disaster recovery plans are documented, tested and improved based on outcomes.

Cloud and Platform Operations

  • Provide leadership for the reliability and operational governance of Google Cloud Platform services and shared DTC infrastructure.
  • Drive infrastructure automation, standardization and repeatability using Infrastructure as Code and GitOps practices.
  • Partner with Architecture, Security and Platform Engineering to improve cloud reliability, scalability, security, compliance and cost efficiency.
  • Establish guardrails for environments, access, configuration, service lifecycle management and operational controls.
  • Promote sustainable cloud usage and FinOps practices while balancing availability, performance, resilience and cost.

People and Engineering Leadership

  • Build, lead and develop a high-performing SRE organisation with clear accountability, sustainable ways of working and a strong service ownership mindset.
