About the Role

Chime is looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to lead our Growth Engineering team. This team drives product innovation and experimentation across onboarding, conversion, engagement, and referral—empowering millions of members to unlock financial progress. As a Growth leader, you’ll be responsible for scaling impact through engineering excellence, cross-functional collaboration, and bold product execution that brings more people into the Chime ecosystem and helps them realize value faster.

The base salary offered for this role and level of experience will begin at $198,990 and up to $281,900. Full-time employees are also eligible for a bonus, competitive equity package, and benefits. The actual base salary offered may be higher, depending on your location, skills, qualifications, and experience. 

In this role, you can expect to:
  • Partner closely with Product, Design, and Marketing to identify, prioritize, and deliver high-impact growth initiatives across the member lifecycle.
  • Scale and evolve the systems, platforms, and infrastructure that power experimentation and personalization across Chime’s surfaces.
  • Lead the development and deployment of A/B tests and growth features that drive measurable user and business outcomes.
  • Hire, coach, and grow a high-performing team of engineers focused on speed, quality, and outcomes.
  • Set technical and execution strategy across a portfolio of initiatives that increase Chime’s reach, member activation, and retention.
  • Champion a culture of experimentation, member obsession, and engineering excellence.
  • Operate with autonomy and urgency, creating clarity in ambiguity and delivering results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
To thrive in this role, you have:
  • 5+ years of experience leading engineering teams, specializing in growth engineering initiatives.
  • A proven track record of scaling consumer-facing features and systems with measurable impact on user engagement and growth.
  • Experience working with modern experimentation frameworks and product analytics tools.
  • Have led teams building systems or platforms that support high-scale A/B testing or segmentation.
  • Strong technical judgment paired with an ability to partner cross-functionally and influence product direction.
  • Will have used (A/B testing platform) to build (experiments) that help (product teams) do (measurable product iteration).
  • Will have used (backend + frontend stacks) to build (features) that help (members) do (activation, conversion, or referral).
  • A growth mindset, willingness to roll up your sleeves, and an eagerness to lead through ambiguity and change.
