About the Role  

Otto Aviation is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Senior Developer, Middleware/Integration to lead the design, development, and optimization of integrations across enterprise systems. This role requires deep expertise in middleware platforms such as SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), MuleSoft, Dell Boomi, or equivalent technologies. The ideal candidate will bring over a decade of hands-on experience in enterprise integration, API development, and cloud-based middleware, with a strong focus on scalability, performance, and security.

What You’ll Do  

• Architect and implement complex integration solutions across enterprise applications (ERP, CRM, HCM, PLM, MES etc.).  

• Lead the development of APIs, event-driven integrations, and data pipelines using middleware platforms.  

• Define integration standards, best practices, and governance frameworks.  

• Collaborate with enterprise architects, business stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to align integration strategies with business goals.  

• Mentor junior developers and provide technical leadership in integration projects.  

• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize integration performance and reliability.  

• Ensure compliance with enterprise security, data privacy, and regulatory requirements.  

• Contribute to the continuous improvement of integration platforms and DevOps pipelines.  

Who You Are  

Education  

• A Bachelor’s degree in STEM or a related field is required.  

• Additionally, one of the following certifications is necessary: 
  • SAP Certified Professional - Solution Architect - SAP BTP  
  • SAP Certified Associate - SAP Integration Suite  
  • MuleSoft Certified Integration Architect  
  • Certifications from vendors such as Dell Boomi, TIBCO, or broader certifications like TOGAF (The Open Group Architecture Framework) that also cover middleware technologies and integration practices.  

Experience  

• 5-7+ years of experience in enterprise application integration using middleware platforms.  

• Hands-on experience with one or more of the following: SAP BTP (CPI/Integration Suite), MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, Dell Boomi, Azure Logic Apps, or Informatica.  

• Strong understanding of REST/SOAP APIs, JSON, XML, and integration patterns (synchronous/asynchronous).  

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid integration scenarios.  

• Proficiency in scripting or programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, or Groovy.  

• Familiarity with DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines for integration deployments.  

Required Skills  

• Programming Languages & Technologies:  
  • Java, JavaScript / Node.js, Groovy, XML & XSLT, JSON, SQL, Python, ABAP, BPMN / BPEL, Shell Scripting (Bash, PowerShell), TypeScript  
  • API Design (REST, SOAP, OData) 
  • OAuth2 / JWT / SAML (for secure integrations)  
  • CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc.)  
  • Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP – especially if middleware is cloud-hosted)

 Where You'll Be  

Otto Aviation is currently a remote workplace culture, with plans to secure a permanent headquarters for our corporate office in the next 2-3 years.  

**The new teammate must be willing to travel to our current site at Ft Worth, TX, 1 week per month for team collaboration
