Coffee is “wakeup technology” that hasn’t evolved in 1,500 years and we’re changing that. 50% of Americans have a gene variant that makes metabolizing caffeine difficult, leading to jitters, bloating, and stomach issues. Most people shrug and say, “Welp, that’s coffee.” We didn’t.

Instead, we created a smarter blend of coffee, functional mushrooms, collagen protein, and nootropics to fuel focus, energy, immunity, and gut health. No crash. No B.S.

We’ve served over 300,000 customers in the past 3 years and there are 150,000,000 coffee drinkers left. We’re less than 1% done. Come help us reach the rest.

We’re looking for a Director of Lifecycle Marketing to own and scale our customer retention ecosystem. You’ll lead strategy and execution across all customer touch points including, but not limited to, email, SMS, and emerging CRM channels building a high-performing lifecycle program that drives engagement, loyalty, and LTV. This is a strategic leadership role: part architect, part optimizer, part storyteller. You’ll combine data-driven thinking with creative intuition to deliver personalized customer experiences that deepen brand love and maximize growth.

Requirements
  • 7–10 years of experience in CRM, lifecycle marketing, or retention preferably in high-growth DTC or CPG environments.
  • Proven success designing and scaling multi-channel lifecycle programs that drive measurable retention and revenue growth.
  • Deep experience with Klaviyo, Bubblehouse, and Zaymo (flows, segmentation, testing, and reporting).
  • Expertise in customer journey mapping, audience segmentation, and lifecycle analytics.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and manage external partners or agencies.
  • Strong copy and content instincts with the ability to guide creative that converts and connects.
  • Analytical and strategic thinker who can turn data into insights and insights into action.
  • Experience partnering with performance marketing, product, and creative teams to ensure consistency and alignment.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills; able to mentor and develop a growing team.
  • Familiarity with SMS, push, and loyalty program strategy.
  • Bonus: Experience with Shopify, ESP migrations, CDPs, or retention-focused analytics tools.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lifecycle Strategy: Build and own the full customer journey from onboarding and nurture to win-back and loyalty with an emphasis on LTV growth and retention. Think about and strategize all touch points with customers, not just email and SMS.
  • Team & Partner Leadership: Manage and mentor internal talent while leading our third-party email agency to ensure flawless execution, optimization, and campaign reporting.
  • Cross-Channel Execution: Oversee all CRM campaigns (email, SMS, and emerging retention channels), ensuring cohesive messaging and creative excellence.
  • Segmentation & Personalization: Develop data-backed audience strategies that deliver the right message to the right customer at the right time.
  • Experimentation & Optimization: Create a culture of testing subject lines, creative, incentives, and journey design to improve performance continuously.
  • Analytics & Insights: Own retention reporting, forecasting, and performance dashboards; translate metrics into actionable strategies.
  • Collaboration: Partner with brand, growth, and product teams to align lifecycle initiatives with overall marketing and business goals.
  • Innovation: Identify and implement new tools, technologies, and tactics that push the boundaries of personalized, high-impact lifecycle marketing.
Who You Are
  • A retention strategist with the creative instincts of a storyteller.
  • Equal parts data-driven and brand-obsessed you know that great lifecycle marketing is both art and science.
  • A natural leader who thrives in fast-moving, collaborative environments.
  • Relentlessly curious, results-oriented, and passionate about delivering experiences that make customers feel seen and valued.
  • Excited by the opportunity to help build the next iconic wellness brand.

Benefits
  • Be part of a mission-driven company revolutionizing the way people start their day.
  • Competitive salary with performance-based incentives.
  • Equity opportunities in a rapidly growing brand.
  • Flexible, remote work environment.
  • A passionate and innovative team that values creativity, experimentation, and growth.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
