The Senior Director of Procurement leads Ameresco’s global procurement function, driving strategic sourcing, contracting, and supplier management across a diverse portfolio of clean energy and infrastructure projects. This role supports Ameresco’s mission to deliver innovative energy solutions, including solar, battery storage, microgrids, and energy efficiency retrofits, through performance-based and design-built models. The Vice President ensures procurement strategies align with business goals, project risk profiles, and sustainability commitments, while enabling operational excellence across federal, municipal, commercial, and industrial markets.
Responsibilities:
Develop and execute a comprehensive procurement strategy that supports Ameresco’s clean energy and infrastructure initiatives, including Energy Savings Performance Contracts (ESPCs), Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), and Engineer-Procure-Construct (EPC) projects.
Lead and mentor a high-performing, geographically distributed procurement team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and safety.
Oversee procurement for complex, multi-technology projects such as solar PV, battery energy storage systems (BESS), microgrids, renewable natural gas (RNG), and HVAC modernization.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders including Engineering, Project Management, Federal Solutions, and Asset Management.
Ensure all procurement activities meet regulatory, contractual, and ESG standards, including federal acquisition regulations (FAR) and Ameresco’s sustainability goals.
Collaborate with project risk teams to assess and mitigate supplier and contractual risks. Monitor supplier performance and drive continuous improvement in cost, quality, and delivery.
Champion the adoption of digital procurement tools and analytics to enhance transparency, agility, and decision-making.
Track and report on procurement KPIs such as cost savings, total cost of ownership, and project delivery timelines.
Represent Ameresco in strategic negotiations, industry forums, and supplier summits to strengthen market intelligence and partnerships.
Perform other duties as Required
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Construction Management, or Business (Master’s preferred)
10+ years of procurement or supply chain experience, including 3–5 years in a leadership role
Additional Qualifications:
Experience with infrastructure or renewable energy projects
Knowledge of EPC and BoP contracting and federal procurement practices
Strong leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills
Proficiency in procurement systems and analytics platforms
Commitment to safety, quality, and sustainability
Experience with federal energy projects and ESPC contracting
Familiarity with renewable energy technologies and market trends
Supply chain certifications (e.g., CPSM, CSCP)
Occasional travel to project sites, supplier facilities, and industry events.
