We're committed to delivering exceptional customer experiences while fostering a company culture that nurtures individual curiosity, growth, and integrity. We’re excited about what’s next, and we’re looking for others to join us on our journey.

*This is a hybrid role that must work out of our Boston, MA office 2 days per week.

We're seeking a dynamic, forward-thinking Sr. Director of People to join our team in a rare and exceptional opportunity that combines both global leadership with focused strategic direction. This isn't just another HR position – it's a career-defining role designed for a people leader ready to embrace both breadth and depth in their professional journey.

The successful candidate will step into an already high performing People function where you'll immediately take the helm of our entire people function (HR and Recruiting) in the USA and Ireland. Then, after mastering the global landscape, you'll channel your expertise into leading the HR function specifically for our growing USA team.

The Journey:

  • First 12 Months: Lead our entire people function covering a maternity leave for our Global Head of People. You'll oversee both the People and Recruitment functions for both our US and Ireland offices, giving you unprecedented exposure to international HR leadership and the chance to have a genuine impact on our global organization and growth.
  • After 12 months: Once our Global Head of People returns, you'll focus on elevating and building our US People operations. As the permanent HR Snr Director for our U.S. HR team, you'll build upon your previous global People experience to create tailored strategies that attract, develop, and retain top talent across NAMER whilst supporting our US business leaders across their HR initiatives and programs.

This full-time, permanent position offers the best of both worlds – the excitement and challenge of global leadership followed by the opportunity to have true impact in our strategic core region.  It's perfect for an ambitious People leader who thrives on variety, embraces transformation, and is ready to grow their career in unexpected ways.

What you will be doing:
  • Leading and mentoring the People team, providing guidance and support to enhance team performance.
  • Developing and implementing People strategies that put Tines’ employees at the center of the business and then aligning these with Tines’ business objectives.
  • Reviewing and optimising all areas of People Operations — from processes to systems — to drive efficiency, consistency, and scalability.
  • Close partnership and collaboration with Tines’ executive leadership (CEO, GTM, Engineering, G&A ) to support and guide them in their People initiatives such as organizational design, change and performance management.
  • Collaborating with broader management cross functionally to understand their People needs with a view to fostering an organisational culture that promotes employee engagement, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Overseeing employee training and development programs to Tines’ employees to enhance skills and career growth opportunities.
  • Conducting organizational employee surveys to assess employee satisfaction and gain employee feedback, identifying areas for improvement and creating meaningful initiatives.
  • Utilising data and analytics to measure People effectiveness and inform strategic business decisions.
  • Advising Tines’ leadership on People best practices on employment legislation.
  • Promoting diversity and inclusion initiatives to create a culture of equality and wellbeing.
What you bring with you:
  • 15 years People/HR experience including 7 in a leadership role.
  • HR experience in a scaling, growing SaaS organisation.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence at all levels of the organization.
  • Comprehensive expertise in People Operations, from process design to system implementation.
  • Deep understanding of organisational development, employee engagement and change management.
  • Demonstrated experience partnering with Finance and FP&A teams during planning cycles, including headcount forecasting, budget development, and strategic resource allocation to align People initiatives with organizational financial objectives.
  • Strong project management skills for managing People initiatives.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to People decision-making.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a diverse team in multiple geographies in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of employee benefits and compensation structures.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and manage change within a company.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Target Annual Compensation: $250-275k salary + equity

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
