The Role:
The Senior Director, IT Infrastructure and Operations is responsible for the overall management and delivery of day-to-day operations of global cloud, network, storage, security and telecommunications infrastructure, as well end user experience, and enterprise applications and services.
This role brings experience, knowledge, and future vision for transforming infrastructure operations strategy, operating model, and best practice product and service offerings.
As a key member of IT leadership, this role contributes to the development and execution of the enterprise-wide IT strategy and is responsible for ensuring the IT infrastructure/operations strategy is fully aligned with the needs of the business globally to ensure seamless business value.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead overall management and optimization of IT technology infrastructure, systems, networks, and services based on industry standards and best practices.
- Develop short- and long-term plans and strategies for IT infrastructure/operations.
- Own technology standards assessment and adoption of IT technologies and tools including companywide training for use cases.
- Develop, implement and maintain IT policies, procedures and associated plans for IT
- Own compliance and management of systems to meet SOX, FDA and GxP requirements as well as HIPAA and GDPR.
- Own, manage and accountable for overall Infrastructure security model and vendor oversight
- Own, implement and maintain security measures to protect overall IT infrastructure from cyberthreats including implementation and management of risk assessment, data protection, secure networks and endpoints, incident response, penetration testing, application security and employee training against phishing attacks.
- Own and manage IT infrastructure/operations budget
- Develops and executes a strategy to improve awareness of the business value that the Infrastructure and Operations function provides and continuously seeks to ensure alignment to customer needs.
- Communicate IT issues and updates to various stakeholders, including management, executive leadership and business partners
- Oversee, manage, build and develop effective team providing guidance and support
- Set the team's annual deliverables/objectives, performance goals, and empower the team to deliver based on company strategic goals.
What you’ll bring:
- Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate and communicate with a variety of audiences and stakeholders including, but not limited to, Executive and Senior Management, Business Leaders/Managers and colleagues worldwide.
- An active listener with the demonstrated ability to proactively and confidently engage with global key stakeholders to gain an understanding of the business' evolving IT needs, develop and recommend innovative and cost-effective solutions and explain technology-related issues to non-technical audiences.
- Developing practices to track and measure the quality of services and maintain service improvement plans.
- Third-party management, working closely with sourcing and vendor managers
- Knowledge across a broad spectrum of data security disciplines and systems
- Experience supporting or implementing some of the following: NIST CSF, ISO 2700x,
- SOX, HIPAA
- Deep knowledge of cybersecurity risks and management of these risks
- Established skills in project and program management
- Highly organized, results driven, problem solver with demonstrated complex problem-solving ability and sound judgment ability
- Strong leadership, team building, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Education & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (Masters preferred) with concentration in Computer Science, Information Technology or related discipline.
- 15+ years’ experience in Infrastructure/Operations in pharmaceutical or biotech industry
