SS&C is a global leader in investment management and financial services technology, partnering with many of the world’s most sophisticated alternative asset managers. Our Private Markets platform supports complex fund structures across private equity, private credit, and Business Development Company (BDC) vehicles.

As a Senior Director, you will operate at the forefront of this platform — leading large-scale client engagements, shaping operational strategy, and influencing the continued growth of our Private Markets business.

This is a highly visible leadership role with enterprise-wide impact across clients, talent, and long-term strategy.

Why You Will Love It Here:

  • Flexibility: Hybrid work model & business casual dress code (jeans welcome).
  • Your Future: 401(k) matching & professional development reimbursement.
  • Work/Life Balance: Flexible vacation, PTO, sick leave & paid holidays.
  • Wellbeing: Medical, dental, vision, EAP & parental leave.
  • Wide-Ranging Perspectives: A collaborative, high-performance culture.
  • Leadership Exposure: Direct partnership with executive leadership and key clients.
  • Growth Platform: Opportunity to influence and scale a leading private markets platform.

What You Will Get To Do:

  • Provide executive leadership across multiple fund accounting teams servicing Private Equity, Private Credit, and Business Development Company (BDC) clients.
  • Own strategic client relationships, serving as senior escalation point and trusted advisor to CFOs and operating partners.
  • Drive operational strategy, scalability, and risk management across complex fund structures and regulated BDC vehicles.
  • Oversee onboarding and integration of new clients, ensuring alignment with enterprise operating models and service standards.
  • Maintain executive oversight of complex NAV calculations, capital activity, financial reporting, and carried interest/distribution waterfall models.
  • Ensure accurate interpretation and application of governing documents, partnership agreements, and side letters.
  • Lead annual audit cycles across multiple engagements, strengthening control environments and mitigating risk.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Technology, Product, Compliance, and Business Development to enhance service delivery and support platform expansion.
  • Develop and mentor senior leaders and managers, building succession strength and fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
  • Contribute to revenue growth through client retention, expansion opportunities, and participation in prospective client presentations.

What You Will Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in Private Equity, Private Credit, Business Development Company (BDC), or alternative investment fund accounting.
  • Significant experience leading large, multi-layered teams and managing senior-level direct reports.
  • Deep technical expertise in complex fund structures, waterfalls, allocations, and investor reporting.
  • Strong command of US GAAP and alternative investment accounting standards.
  • Experience with regulated investment vehicles, including BDC reporting requirements, preferred.
  • CPA strongly preferred; MBA a plus.
  • Executive presence with the ability to influence C-suite stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated success leading through scale, complexity, and organizational growth.
  • Strong systems acumen and advanced Excel proficiency.
