Ericsson Enterprise Wireless Solutions, Inc. seeks a Senior Director, Firmware Engineering in Boise, ID (may telecommute from any location within the U.S) who will serve to deliver the next generation of SD-WAN endpoint devices involves overseeing the development of modem firmware under the NetCloud Operations System (NCOS), a customized Linux distribution that powers endpoints and facilitates fleet management through the cloud-based Software as a Service (SaaS) solution known as NetCloud Manager (NCM).
What you will do:
This role includes managing a team of software developers tasked with delivering firmware features for the NetCloud Operating System (NCOS) from inception to general availability. Close collaboration with product management, hardware development, and endpoint NCOS teams is essential to develop and implement strategic roadmaps. Identifying and addressing product gaps is crucial for driving change and achieving enhanced outcomes. The role also encompasses proposing ideas and initiatives aimed at enhancing customer value. Mentoring and coaching the team is fundamental to delivering Cellular WAN solutions for Internet of Things (IoT), mobile, and enterprise customers, encompassing both LTE and 5G advanced technologies. Furthermore, collaboration across geographically diverse software service teams is encouraged to promote the sharing of expertise and implementation of best practices. 10% domestic and international travel required. May telecommute from any location within the U.S.

- Vendor specific changes in the Telephony layer for data, signaling, and vendor-specific RIL enhancements.
1 year of experience in:
- Delivering results over many areas of the software lifecycle: design, development, debugging, validating optimization, and product support.
- Hardware bring-up of SoC/ECU/Connectivity, firmware design and development
- Providing architectural and technical guidance and ensure sound engineering practices are followed.
