About the Job:

The Senior Director of Engineering - Senior Living provides strategic and operational leadership across A Place for Mom’s Senior Living engineering organization. This includes Sales Tech, Web, CRM/Salesforce, and Quality Assurance teams responsible for building, maintaining, and scaling the platforms that enable our advisors and marketing teams to connect families with senior living communities.

This role is responsible for driving consistent, high-quality engineering delivery across the Senior Living domain - ensuring work is well-planned, properly resourced, and delivered with predictability and excellence. The Senior Director partners closely with Product Management, Technical Program Management (TPM), Architecture, and key business stakeholders to align on priorities, outcomes, and timelines, while ensuring the engineering teams execute effectively and efficiently.

What You Will Do:

Leadership & Delivery Excellence
  • Lead and mentor Engineering Directors, Senior Managers, and their teams across Sales Tech, Web, CRM/Salesforce, and QA.

  • Drive structured planning and execution processes that ensure consistent, predictable delivery of roadmap commitments.

  • Translate business and product initiatives into actionable engineering plans with clear ownership and milestones.

  • Establish effective operating rhythms, planning cadences, and performance tracking mechanisms.

  • Define and monitor key engineering metrics focused on delivery predictability, quality, system stability, and operational efficiency.

  • Oversee a cross-functional Salesforce engineering team that supports multiple product domains, ensuring effective prioritization and coordination across engineering organizations.

  • Lead a centralized QA organization, including QA leadership, responsible for advancing quality standards, shared resourcing strategies, and AI-enabled testing practices.

Cross-Functional Partnership:

  • Partner closely with Product and TPM leaders to align on scope, sequencing, and delivery timelines.

  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Data stakeholders to ensure technology solutions drive measurable business outcomes.

  • Communicate scope, tradeoffs, timelines, and risks clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
    Contribute to broader product and engineering planning processes to ensure effective capacity allocation.

Operational & Technical Oversight:

  • Oversee technical execution and operational health of Senior Living platforms, including CRM-integrated systems, lead management tools, and web properties.

  • Ensure strong standards for quality, scalability, security, and maintainability.

  • Partner with Architecture and Infrastructure teams to align on technical standards and shared frameworks.

  • Promote disciplined use of AI-assisted development tools to improve velocity while maintaining quality.

People & Culture:

  • Develop and coach engineering leaders, fostering accountability, engagement, and professional growth.

  • Build a culture grounded in clarity, ownership, measurable outcomes, and continuous improvement.

  • Partner with Talent Acquisition and People teams to attract and retain high-performing engineering talent.

  • Lead distributed teams with empathy, transparency, and strong communication practices.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.

  • 8 - 12+ years of engineering experience, including 5+ years leading engineering managers or multi-team organizations.

  • Proven experience leading distributed engineering teams through structured, stakeholder-driven delivery initiatives.

  • Strong operational leadership skills - roadmap execution, capacity planning, and delivery tracking.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to senior leaders and business stakeholders.

  • Experience partnering across multiple product domains to ensure architectural alignment and data consistency.

  • Experience leading or supporting centralized Quality Assurance functions, including testing frameworks and AI-assisted QA tooling.

  • Experience with modern web technologies (React, Next.js, JavaScript/TypeScript), API-driven architectures, and cloud environments (AWS preferred).

  • Familiarity with CRM platforms (Salesforce strongly preferred) and sales/marketing integrations.

  • Strong understanding of agile principles, SDLC practices, and engineering performance metrics.

  • Experience leading remote or distributed teams effectively.

Compensation:

• Base Salary: $215,000-$275,000

• Bonus: 30% of annual earnings
