Summary of Position

The Senior Director of Engineering for Account Identity & Access leads the strategy, vision, and execution of Teladoc's identity, authentication, and access management ecosystem. This leader owns the technologies that enable members to securely register, authenticate, manage their accounts, and access care across the Teladoc platform.

The role oversees multiple engineering teams and partners closely with Product, Security, Architecture, Compliance, and Analytics teams to deliver secure, scalable, and frictionless user experiences. This position requires a strong engineering leader with deep expertise in identity management, authentication technologies, security architecture, and high-availability consumer platforms. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities


  • Lead multiple engineering teams responsible for Identity, Authentication, Authorization, Account Management, and Access Services.
  • Define and execute the long-term technology vision for identity and access management platforms.
  • Deliver secure, seamless, and scalable registration, login, account recovery, and user profile experiences.
  • Drive modernization of authentication and authorization capabilities across the platform.
  • Partner with Product, Security, Compliance, Privacy, and Enterprise Architecture teams to align business and security objectives.
  • Develop highly available and resilient systems supporting millions of authentication and access transactions.
  • Ensure compliance with security, privacy, and regulatory requirements.
  • Establish engineering standards for identity governance, access controls, fraud prevention, and account protection.
  • Provide leadership to Senior Managers and engineering organizations across global delivery teams.
  • Maintain strong operational oversight, including platform reliability, incident management, risk mitigation, and roadmap execution.
  • Mentor engineering leaders and foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and technical excellence.

Required Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Management, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of engineering leadership experience, including management of large engineering organizations.
  • Demonstrated success leading organizations of 30+ engineers.
  • Deep experience with Identity and Access Management (IAM), Customer Identity and Access Management (CIAM), authentication, or authorization platforms.
  • Strong understanding of modern security architectures and identity technologies.
  • Experience designing and scaling highly available consumer-facing platforms.
  • Strong architectural acumen with the ability to translate business and security requirements into technical solutions.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven experience leading cross-functional engineering initiatives.
  • Travel: Up to 5% (2-3 times a year) (travel expectations are approximate and subject to change based on business needs)

Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience in healthcare, banking, financial services, or other highly regulated industries.
  • Experience with CIAM platforms, Single Sign-On (SSO), Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), OAuth, OpenID Connect, and identity federation technologies.
  • Background in fraud prevention, account security, and identity governance.
  • Experience supporting large-scale consumer digital products.
  • Experience with distributed systems and cloud-native architectures.

The base salary range for this position is $200,000 - $220,000. In addition to a base salary, this position is eligible for performance bonus, RSU’s, and benefits (subject to eligibility requirements) listed here: Teladoc Health Benefits 2026 Total compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to, type of position, location, education level, work experience, and certifications. This information is applicable for all full-time positions.  

We follow a Flexible Vacation Policy, intended for rest, relaxation, and personal time. All time off must be approved by your manager prior to use. You will also receive 80 hours of Paid Sick, Safe, and Caregiver Leave annually. This applies to full-time positions only.
