We are seeking a highly driven Senior Director, Business Development to lead Medison’s Search and Evaluation (S&E) and execute strategic partnerships. The leader will be responsible for managing the S&E team, identify, assess and execute transactions that align with our long-term growth strategy. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned professional with the ability to operate as an owner, manage and inspire cross functional teams and engage effectively with C-level executives internally and externally with biotech partners.


Responsibilities
  • Lead Medison’s S&E team of PhD professionals. Manage identification and evaluation of strategic partnerships and business development opportunities, ensuring rigor analysis, robust intake, triage, and cross-functional alignment.
  • Collaborate and lead the integration of scientific, commercial, financial, and strategic analyses into comprehensive business cases.
  • Engage and collaborate with external partners to structure transactions, negotiate term sheet and contract documents.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on partnership strategy and business development priorities.
  • Build and sustain strong relationships across internal and external stakeholders.
  • Represent Medison externally at key industry conferences and with potential partners, serving as a visible ambassador for the company’s growth strategy.

Requirements
  • PhD in Life Sciences; MBA a plus.
  • 10-15 years experience in business development, licensing, or corporate development within pharma/biotech. Specific experience in S&E required.
  • Rare disease and oncology experience preferred, but not mandatory.
  • Demonstrated successful track record in leading and closing late stage deals e.g. Pivotal/P3/filed/Marketed assets. Ex US transaction experience preferred, but not mandatory.
  • Entrepreneurial mind set, highly driven, excited by fast-paced hyper growth company.
  • Deep understanding of the drug development lifecycle, clinical data analysis and regulatory pathways.
  • Knowledge of financial analysis/valuation and deal structuring.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to engage with C-level executives.
  • Inspirational leader. Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple complex workstreams.

Location: United States (Greater NY or Greater Boston preferred; remote position)

Reports to: VP, Head of Business Development


Expected Base Pay Range (USD): $225,000-$275,000 per annum

The successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. The expected base pay range for this role may be modified based on market conditions.
