About Wellness Pet Company

The Wellness Pet Company is on a mission to help the next generation of pet parents fulfill a shared life of wellbeing with their pets through a foundation of proven nutrition. We are committed to crafting high-quality pet food, dental chews, treats, and topper recipes that are made with the perfect balance of high-quality natural ingredients paired with the latest scientific research and technologies. As a community of people working together, Wellies are positively obsessed with how to deliver proven health outcomes that pet parents can see and pets can taste. Wellies bring their best to work every day, come ready to collaborate, embrace the hard things, and own their outcomes.

Our team is based out of our Burlington, MA headquarters location, where we work a synchronized hybrid schedule in-office Monday through Thursday and remote on Fridays. Team members must reside within or be willing to relocate to a commutable distance from our Burlington office.

What You’ll Accomplish:

As the Senior Director of Brand Marketing, you will serve as the general manager of our dog food and treats business, accountable for stabilizing performance, reigniting growth, and positioning the portfolio for long-term success. Operating at the intersection of strategy, performance, and execution, you will diagnose core business challenges, set clear priorities, and lead a focused turnaround.

You will own the dog business P&L with accountability for restoring revenue growth, improving margins, and strengthening our competitive position. Success in this role requires both strategic clarity and operational rigor—bringing discipline, urgency, and focus to how work gets done and results are delivered.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Turnaround Strategy & Performance Reset: Lead a comprehensive business diagnosis to identify root causes of underperformance across brand, channel, and customer dynamics. Develop and execute a focused turnaround strategy with clear priorities, bold choices, and measurable milestones.

· P&L Ownership & Recovery Leadership: Own end-to-end business performance, including revenue, share, and profitability. Drive immediate stabilization actions while building a scalable foundation for sustained growth. Proactively manage risks and opportunities in partnership with Finance.

· Focused Brand Planning & Execution: Set clear annual and long-range brand strategies, prioritizing high-impact initiatives that balance near-term wins with long-term brand equity. Simplify plans to enable faster, more effective execution.

· Cross-Functional Alignment & Execution Discipline: Lead tight alignment across Sales, Marketing, Innovation, Creative, and Supply Chain to ensure flawless execution of priorities. Eliminate silos, clarify decision rights, and drive accountability for results.

· Consumer & Market Relevance: Re-anchor the business in deep consumer insight to strengthen differentiation and relevance. Identify gaps in positioning, messaging, and portfolio architecture, and implement changes to better meet evolving consumer and customer needs.

· Customer & Channel Recovery: Partner with Sales and Shopper Marketing to rebuild customer momentum. Strengthen joint business planning, improve omni-channel execution, and regain distribution, visibility, and velocity.

· Innovation Prioritization & Pipeline Reset: Refocus the innovation pipeline on fewer, higher-impact initiatives aligned to growth priorities. Ensure disciplined commercialization and strong in-market execution.

· Team Leadership & Culture Shift: Lead, develop, and inspire a team through change—instilling a culture of ownership, urgency, and accountability. Provide clear direction, candid feedback, and coaching to elevate performance.

  • Annual Brand Planning & Execution: Lead the development and execution of annual brand plans, translating portfolio strategies into clear priorities, initiatives, and customer-ready programs
  • Tools and Processes: Develop and implement tools and processes that enable brand and GM leadership to proactively manage the business.

Who We’re Looking For:
