Position Summary
This role leads the development, delivery, and support of our Caris data products, driving our efforts to build a cutting-edge real-world data platform with complex multi-modal data that accelerates insights into oncology drug discovery and precision medicine. The ideal candidate brings a rare combination of technical depth, leadership acumen, and strategic communication skills to shape the future of translational data products.
Job Responsibilities
Leading high-impact, cross-functional teams in a matrixed R&D and commercial environment.
Driving innovation in AI/ML and multi-omic integration to power product development and decision-making.
Engaging collaboratively with senior stakeholders across pharma, diagnostics, and clinical research to ensure external relevance and internal excellence.
Define and execute the strategic roadmap for Caris’ data products to deliver value across biopharma partnerships.
Lead and grow cross-functional teams, integrating computational biology and data science expertise to build and refine products.
Set scientific and product priorities, develop implementation strategies, and ensure delivery aligned with business objectives.
Advance precision medicine by delivering high-quality, integrated clinico-molecular datasets for internal use and external partners.
Translate complex scientific findings into actionable insights for strategic and operational stakeholders.
Champion innovation in our data products – driving AI/ML-driven data integration, knowledge extraction, and model development.
Represent scientific and technical excellence in cross-functional collaborations, supporting business development and translational research initiatives.
Required Qualifications
PhD in computational biology, bioinformatics, genomics, or related quantitative fields.
15+ years post-PhD work experience, including industry leadership experience.
Proven leadership of multi-disciplinary teams driving development of scalable bioinformatics and molecular data products.
Demonstrated impact in translational research, especially oncology or immunology, with a track record of high-value collaborations.
Deep expertise in multi-modal data integration, novel algorithm development, and AI/ML applied to large-scale molecular datasets.
Strong programming background (Python, R), cloud experienced (AWS), and familiarity with structured and unstructured omics data platforms.
Exceptional strategic and analytical thinking with a bias towards execution.
Proven ability to influence executive decision-making and communicate across scientific and non-technical stakeholders.
Highly collaborative, with experience leading in complex, fast-paced environments.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, Outlook, and general working knowledge of Internet for business use.

Physical Demands
Will work at a computer most of the time, with some time spent collaborating with subject matter experts and business group leaders either in person or through remote conferencing.
Visual acuity and analytical skill to distinguish fine detail.
Must possess ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time.

Other
This position requires periodic travel (up to 20%)and some evenings, weekends and/or holidays.
Job may require after-hours response to emergency issues.
Annual Hiring Range
$230,000 - $260,000
Actual compensation offer to candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level. The pay ratio between base pay and target incentive (if applicable) will be finalized at offer.
