The Senior Director of Artificial Intelligence & Data Infrastructure will help shape the vision and lead the execution of our next-generation data and AI infrastructure – driving innovation across all of Danaher. In this strategic role, you will lead a world-class team to design and deliver a robust, scalable, high-performance platform that will accelerate enterprise-wide AI-driven research and product development. Your leadership will enable cutting-edge solutions that transform how we innovate and create value for customers globally.

This role sits within the Chief Technology and AI Office (CTAIO) and reports to the VP, AI Platform and is fully remote within the United States.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Define and execute the strategic roadmap for Danaher’s enterprise-wide Data & AI Platform, aligning with business objectives and growth initiatives

  • Design and deliver an AI platform that accelerates research, new product development, and enhances existing products and processes; enforces best practices for data governance, quality, security, and compliance by design; and drives adoption of advanced AI/ML methodologies and data analytics through a self-service sandbox for data scientists and engineers across the organization

  • Stay ahead of the curve by evaluating and integrating cutting-edge technologies to maintain a state-of-the-art AI platform that gives Danaher a competitive edge

  • Build and mentor a high-performing team of Cloud, ML/AI, and Data architects, engineers, and scientists

  • Foster a culture of technical rigor, continuous learning, collaboration, and innovation within the team and across Danaher’s technology community

  • Develop strategic partnerships with key vendors and partners to leverage external expertise and solutions for internal tooling

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • An advanced degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning or a related technical field

  • 10+ years of experience in software development with a focus on data engineering, AI/ML and software architecture and design

  •  5+ years in a leadership role focused on data and AI platforms

  • Extensive experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), integrators (Snowflake, Databricks, etc.) and their data and AI services

  • Strong leadership experience with a proven ability to build consensus, lead, and inspire cross-functional teams in a complex environment

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally per business needs – up to 20%

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Life sciences, diagnostics, or biotechnology (e.g., partnering with R&D, quality, clinical, manufacturing, or commercial teams)

  • Data and engineering practices in industries governed by regulatory standards (e.g., HIPAA, GxP), compliance frameworks (e.g., SOX), and rigorous data governance requirements

  • Working in a matrixed environment

The annual salary range for this role is $220,000 - $250,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
