Senior DevOps Engineer

Softrams, acquired in November 2024, forms the core of Tria Federal’s new Public Health business unit. Tria Federal (Tria) delivers mission-critical technical expertise and digital services informed by deep customer expertise to Health and Public Safety agencies across the federal sector.

Job Description:
We are looking for a highly skilled Senior DevOps Engineer, you will support the team that integrates development, operations, and security, driving cultural and organizational change to prioritize security without sacrificing speed and agility. You will be part of a collaborative and agile team that supports and delivers virtual infrastructure for mission-critical health IT solutions.
Basic Requirements:
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Federal Position of Trust clearance designation.
- Must reside in and be able to perform work in the United States.
- Must have lived in the United States for 3 of the last 5 years.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
- 3 or more years of solid hands-on experience working with AWS.
- Possesses an AWS certification or is prepared to pursue a certification within 60 days from the date of joining.
- 3 or more years of solid hands-on experience with working on AWS.
- 3 or more years of experience with orchestration tools such as Terraform.
- 3 or more years of experience working with agile tools like Jira, Git, and Confluence.
Additional Qualifications:
- Passionate about the concept of infrastructure as code and leveraging modern tools to define, build and manage virtual infrastructure in the cloud.
- Solid understanding of networks, security, and applications.
- Experience with tools such as Jenkins to enable CI/CD.
- Experience using Ansible or Python.
- Expertise troubleshooting and managing Linux systems.
- Experience creating manifests and troubleshooting pods.
- Proven certifications and socially accessible profiles that demonstrate the body of work and participation in modern collaboration hubs.
- A great team player who genuinely believes in solving challenges as a team.
- Ability to learn new technologies and methodologies quickly.
- Ability to explore alternatives and quickly prototype to validate hypothetical architectures or solutions.
- Strong understanding of the core tenets of agile, both in letter and spirit.
- Demonstrated ability to develop System designs, architecture, process flows and concept of operations for large, complex systems.
- Able to provide code from GitHub or similar platform that you have worked on personally or in the open-source community.
- Ability to demonstrate proficiency with configuration management tools such as Ansible, during the interview process.
- Understanding of RBAC for k8s clusters.
- Experience deploying to Kubernetes, along with:
- Service Mesh
- GitOps
- Securing clusters
- Creating Helm Charts
- Experience with serverless resources such as lambda, API Gateway, and/or CloudFront.
- Experience communicating with customers, specifically in the public sector.
- Proficiency in shell scripting.
- Familiarity with supporting Angular and Java Spring CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with supporting Scala, Spark, SageMaker, and EMR.
Responsibilities:
- Implement automation for consistent, scalable, and fool-proof delivery of infrastructure and applications. Continuously improve.
- Leverage modern tools to define, build and manage virtual infrastructure in the cloud.
- Implement and operate configuration management tools like Ansible, Jenkins, Terraform, and Kubernetes.
- Actively work day to day tasks from the backlog, while not only supporting the program but actively innovating to make it better.
- Support production issues/high severity issues on weekends or off hours as required.
- Travel to the Baltimore/DC metro region will be required twice per year (for PI Planning).
Public Trust Clearance:
Many of our roles require the hired candidate to go through public trust clearance. A minimum of 3 years of stay in the U.S. within the last 5 years is required to be eligible to qualify for public trust clearance sponsorship.
Work Location:
Headquartered in Arlington, VA, we also have a primary office in Baltimore, MD for those who prefer to work on-site. However, with employees spread across 40+ states, we have many remote roles.
