The Opportunity:
We are seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, security practices, and operations, with specific experience in InstallShield, Configuration Management, and AWS resource management. The DevOps Engineer will be responsible for the development, support, and maintenance of our COTS product, internal build/install processes, and AWS resources. Apply now and join the team!
*This position is remote. However, the selected candidate will be required to travel to the Hanover, MD or Chantilly, VA offices as needed.
Responsibilities:
1. InstallShield Support and Development
• Provide support and development for InstallShield to ensure smooth deployment of the COTS product.
• Create and maintain installation packages and scripts to ensure smooth deployments and integration of software components.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to installation processes
2. Build/Deployment Process Management
• Develop and support the internal build processes for the product
• Utilize advanced technologies, including AI/ML models and tools to manage and automate build processes
• Design, build, and maintain stable and efficient infrastructure to optimize product delivery across production, QA, and development environments
• Monitor, troubleshoot, maintain, and continuously improve building, packaging, and deployment processes
• Utilize a consistent DevOps approach to improve all phases of the development process
3. Configuration Management
• Manage deployment/configuration management processes
• Ensure consistency and reproducibility of deployment configurations across different environments
• Implement best practices for configuration management to enhance deployment efficiency and reliability
• Maintenance version control repositories (Git, SVN) to ensure code integrity
4. Cloud Resource Management
• Support operations for product builds and deployments using cloud resources (AWS, Azure)
• Manage shared resources that support the Atlassian Suite and PME (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda functions)
• Ensure tenable patching, back-strategies, and PME resource management
• Optimize performance of cloud-based resources
• Implement automated infrastructure capabilities including backups, security tools, and monitoring
5. IIS Configuration Management
• Configure and manage IIS security settings (including bindings, SSL certificates, and application pools)
• Diagnose and resolve issues related to IIS configuration, performance, and security.
• Work with integration teams to address application-specific issues hosted on IIS.
• Maintain documentation for common IIS issues and their resolutions.
6. Software Development
• Develop and support software for the product using technologies such as PL.SQL, nUnit, C# and web-based technologies
• Develop and maintain automation scripts using Python, Perl Bash, Java, SQL, or C++
• Write clean, scalable, and well-documented code
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
• 5 -7+ years of experience in DevOps or relates roles
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in InstallShield environment
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD tools (e.g. GitLab) and CI/CD pipelines and automation
• Experience managing cloud platforms (AWS, Azure)
• Strong knowledge of Windows and/or Linux operating systems
• Proficiency in programming and scripting languages (e.g. Python, Bash, PowerShell)
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills
• Familiarity with the Atlassian Suite (JIRA, Confluence)
• Proficiency in version control tools (e.g. SVN, Git)
Desired:
• AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional Certification
• Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience implementing AI technologies
• Proactive approach to identifying and addressing security vulnerabilities
• Continuous learning mindset to stay updated with emerging technologies and best practices
• Knowledge of infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
• Understanding of microservices architecture

The proposed salary range for this position is:
