Senior DevOps Engineer needed!
Why Virtuozzo?

Working at Virtuozzo is an exciting opportunity to be part of a company shaping the future of cloud infrastructure and virtualization. We are the company that’s not just following the cloud trend — we did helped to start it. We have pioneered commercial container virtualization before it became mainstream, and continue to push boundaries with Hybrid Infrastructure, Kubernetes, and OpenStack. Now we are starting to build a powerful ecosystem where you can work on real innovation, not just buzzwords. The leadership team includes original founders who are clearly committed to bold, long-term vision. If you want to build meaningful cloud tech with real impact — this is the place.

Working in DevOps is all about being at the heart of technology and making a real impact. You're the one building the tools and pipelines that help teams deliver faster, more reliably, and with confidence. Isn’t it just a symphony when all the developers build one of our 8000 repositories, bringing their commitment in a timely and solidary manner?

About the Role

We’re looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to help us scale and streamline our infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment processes. You'll be a key part of the engineering team, working closely with developers and architects to build a resilient and efficient development platform. This is a great opportunity to bring your expertise, challenge the status quo, and make a real impact on how we deliver and run software on a scale.

What You’ll Do:

  • Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines (Bitbucket Pipelines, etc.)
  • Automate infrastructure using tools like Terraform, Ansible, OpenStack
  • Set up monitoring, alerting, and observability (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, etc.)
  • Optimize build, test, and deployment processes for speed and reliability
  • Work with developers to ensure packages are production-ready
  • Drive improvements in system performance, security, and scalability
  • Deliver the full virtualization-targeted Linux distribution
  • Support incident response and post-mortem processes

What We’re Looking For:

  • 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Linux Development, or Infrastructure Engineering
  • Solid knowledge of containers and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Experience setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (Compass)
  • Good understanding of networking, Linux internals, and system security
  • Scripting skills (Bash, Python) for automation tasks
  • Deep understanding of C, C++, Go, or Rust
  • Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and tracing tools
  • Proactive, ownership mindset, and strong communication skills
  • Not afraid to rethink existing infrastructure and propose bold improvements

Bonus Points:

  • Knowledge of Atlassian infrastructure and services
  • Experience as a Linux system administrator (RPM-based)
  • Familiarity with GitOps practices
  • Automated QA background

What We Offer:

  • Flexible hours and remote work options
  • Competitive compensation
  • Space for creativity and experimentation within the company’s goals
  • Supportive, engineering-driven culture with minimal bureaucracy
  • The chance to influence infrastructure decisions from day one
  • A smart, friendly team that values reliability, simplicity, and automation

We are open to hearing candidates from the European region only at this stage!

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
