This role is for one of our clients

Compensation: $150-$250 per hour

A leading technology organization developing advanced AI-powered design tools is conducting a paid research study with experienced senior designers.

The study aims to understand how expert designers approach complex problems, evaluate design quality, provide meaningful critique, and determine when a product or creative solution is ready to ship. Through structured and recorded remote sessions, participants will share insights into their professional decision-making, creative process, and standards of excellence.

Depending on your background and fit, you may participate either as the design expert being interviewed or as an interviewer responsible for conducting structured sessions with other design professionals.

RequirementsWhat to Expect
  • Approximately 4–5 hours per task or interview, including preparation and a brief post-session review.
  • Compensation: $250/hour.
  • Fully remote participation.
  • The exact scope, format, schedule, number of sessions, and compensation structure may evolve as the research program is finalized.
  • Sessions will focus on professional design practices, decision-making, critique, quality standards, and creative problem-solving.
What We're Looking For
  • Senior-level professional design experience in one or more areas, including:
    • Product Design
    • UX/UI Design
    • Brand Design
    • Visual Design
    • Interaction Design
    • Service Design
    • Other closely related design disciplines
  • A strong and clearly articulated perspective on design quality, creative craft, critique, and shipping standards.
  • Ability to explain how you approach design problems and make decisions throughout the creative process.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to clearly articulate design rationale, trade-offs, and areas for improvement.
  • A professional portfolio demonstrating your design experience and capabilities. A website or publicly accessible portfolio link is preferred.
  • Ability to participate in structured, recorded remote research sessions.
Portfolio & Confidentiality

Portfolios will be used solely to evaluate suitability for this research study and will not be used for AI model training.

Please submit only work that you are authorized to share publicly or for research evaluation. Do not submit confidential, unreleased, proprietary, or NDA-protected materials.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is an experienced designer with a strong professional point of view and the ability to explain not only what makes a design good, but why it works.

You should be comfortable discussing design decisions, evaluating creative work, identifying weaknesses, explaining trade-offs, and defining the standards that distinguish polished, production-ready work from concepts that need further refinement.

We are committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all qualified applicants. We do not discriminate based on race, religion, color, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, disability, veteran status, genetic information, or any other legally protected characteristic.
