Description

Sprout Social is looking to hire a Demo Engineer for the Customer Experience organization within the Sales & Success team.

Why join Sprout’s Sales & Success team?

Joining the Sales and Success team is an opportunity to accelerate your career. We’re a winning team selling and supporting the leading social media management platform for businesses. Not only do you get to work alongside some of the sharpest minds in the industry, you also get to work with some of the biggest brands in the world, including Kroger, Reebok, Salesforce, and Canva. And the real kicker? You get to design your own career and follow the path that’s best for you. Wherever you want to go, we’re committed to helping you get there.

What you’ll do

  • Ensure the Customer Experience organization is technically prepared to demo new features and products as soon as they reach the market.
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with Product and Engineering to influence the creation of demo-friendly infrastructure that enables deeper customization and flexibility.
  • Own and evolve the demo environment strategy, moving the organization from static demos to a scalable, dynamic demo ecosystem.
  • Develop and maintain high-fidelity demo datasets that translate product capabilities into compelling, value-driven customer stories.
  • Provide thought leadership on demo storytelling, strategy, and execution across the Solutions Engineering organization.
  • Identify opportunities for automation, including repeatable maintenance processes and environment cleanup.
  • Create documentation and training materials to ensure consistent demo best practices and effective adoption of new demo assets.
  • Partner with technical enablement teams when larger-scale rollouts or deployments are required.

What you’ll bring

Sprout Social is looking for a highly driven, technically proficient Demo Engineer who can take ownership of our demo environment and elevate how our products are showcased in the market. You bring a strong blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and storytelling skills, and you’re comfortable working cross-functionally to remove barriers and drive impact.

The minimum qualifications for this role include:

  • 5+ years of experience in tech or SaaS environments and 3+ years of experience in solutions engineering, demo engineering, or a similar strategic technical role.
  • Proven ability to manage complex, cross-functional initiatives and drive projects to completion.
  • Strong understanding of value-based selling and the ability to translate technical features into customer-centric narratives.
  • Working knowledge of RESTful APIs, integrations, and cloud-based applications or platforms.

Preferred qualifications for this role include:

  • Experience with demo automation tools such as Saleo, Reprise, Consensus, or similar platforms.
  • Experience in social media, digital marketing, customer service, digital advertising, and/or research domains.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Experience with Salesforce Service Cloud and/or Marketing Cloud.
  • Experience using data analytics or visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.

How you’ll grow

Within 3 months, you’ll plant your roots by:

  • Completing Sprout Social’s onboarding and enablement programs to build a strong foundation in our products, platform, and Customer Experience workflows.
  • Building trusted working relationships with key stakeholders across Product, Engineering, Solutions Engineering, and Enablement.
  • Developing a deep understanding of Sprout’s current demo environments, tooling, datasets, and delivery processes.
  • Identifying technical gaps and constraints that limit demo flexibility, customization, or speed-to-market.
  • Forming an initial point of view on how the demo ecosystem can evolve to better support new product launches and integrated solution storytelling.

Within 6 months, you’ll start making a clear impact through:

  • Taking ownership of the demo environment strategy and roadmap in partnership with Product, Engineering, and CX leadership.
  • Designing and delivering scalable, reusable demo assets and datasets that showcase Sprout’s most compelling use cases and integrated solutions.
  • Implementing improvements to demo setup, maintenance, and automation to reduce manual effort and improve reliability.
  • Influencing infrastructure decisions that enable deeper environment manipulation and more dynamic, “mess-around-able” demo experiences.
  • Creating clear documentation and best practices to ensure consistent demo execution across the global CX organization.

Within 12 months, you’ll make this role your own by:

  • Aligning demo environment strategy and asset delivery with the product roadmap to ensure readiness for launches and feature releases.
  •  Establishing a repeatable, scalable demo ecosystem that supports innovative storytelling and value-based selling at every stage of the customer journey.
  • Leading ongoing demo education and enablement sessions to share new assets, success stories, and best practices.
  • Serving as a strategic thought leader for demo innovation, helping elevate how Sprout shows up in the market.
  • Continuously incorporating feedback from Solutions Engineers, Product, and customers to refine demo strategy and execution.

Of course, what is outlined above is the ideal timeline; however, business needs, other projects, and tasks may shift, and additional responsibilities may be added at your manager’s discretion.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
