Raya is looking for a Senior Data Scientist I to generate actionable insights driving better recommendations for our members. This role will be reporting into the Analytics team and closely partnering with the Membership Experience Product team. The main focus will be on activation, monetization, and maps.


The ideal candidate has 3+ years of working experience in a Data Science role in tech, with experience in running well-designed experiments, and using causal inference to uncover key business drivers in Python. Proficiency in building data transformations in DBT or Airflow is a big plus. Success in this role will require product curiosity and sharp business acumen.


Qualifications

  • Degree in quantitative field (Computer Science, Mathematics, Machine Learning, AI, Statistics, or equivalent) or highly relevant industry experience
  • 3+ years of experience working in a data science role focusing on product analytics and experimentation for a B2C tech company (dating, gaming, social media)
  • Expert in SQL
  • Strong knowledge in statistics 
  • Familiarity with data transformation tools (e.g. dbt, Airflow)
  • Strong in proactive verbal and written communication and presentation skills, ability to convey rigorous statistical concepts to non-experts
  • Good business instincts with an ability to prioritize their team’s work against the highest impact areas
  • Natural curiosity for exploring data. When a loose thread emerges, you’re inclined to pull on it
  • Accountability and delivery. When you commit to something, you always deliver.
  • This is a fully remote position. The company largely operates on West Coast time.
