The Role
As a Data Analyst within the Core Wealth Platform Product Area, you will support Financial & Planning Reference Data Team aimed at providing financial instrument market data & planning reference data to be actively consumed across multiple critical wealth & advisory experience spanning across Wealth WI, Brokerage & FI Domains.
You are a data savvy strategic problem solver with a passion for data analysis and comfortable in mapping end to end data flow across various data sources to consuming applications. You enjoy both big picture critical thinking and hands-on work and are a collaborative partner who values commitment to team and Leading the Outcome. You should have the ability to go through data mapping, lineage, databases and API calls to understand the data transformations and its business use cases across consuming applications.
This role requires working across multiple market data sources such as Morning Star Data, Refinitiv, S&P, Bloomberg and understanding of various asset classes and associated data characteristics used for financial planning and advisory.
The role focuses on developing subject matter expertise in financial market data & planning reference data and its consumption patterns across consumers. As part of this, the role requires understanding new data needs, exploring data gaps, working with internal and external teams to understand data methodologies and definition. As part of this effort, this role will be responsible for creating data flow documentations, defining new or enhancement on data requirements for development team & leading any issue triages involving Data & API services.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring

Bachelor’s degree with 5-8 years of experience, MBA degree a plus.

Familiarity with financial planning and investment products.

Familiarity with financial data for Stocks, Bonds, Funds, experience with Morning Star Data Services a plus.

Strong data analysis background with the ability to multi-task and prioritize for efficiency and business need (SQL/Python/Debugger).

Outstanding analytical skills, with the ability to analyze current business and technical processes, triage issues, find opportunities for efficiency and improve applications and tools based on insights, solutions, and requirements.

Ability to work with ambiguity and uncertain, with technologies you may have never worked with previously and gather the data and information to get to the root of an issue to resolve.

Ability to assess end to end data process and analyze opportunities for process enhancements & modernization.

Successfully translate business needs into data requirements for developers.

The ability to break a Jira story down into small components, understand the purpose and be able to test.

Ability to identify application and data issues, enhancements, and requests by researching platform specifications, conferring with domain guides across the Enterprise.

Thinks strategically about the end-to-end process and how platform updates / new releases may impact the team and the business.

Evaluating, and making updates to, procedures and processes with an eye towards operational efficiency.

Experience in large scale data platforms and projects with multiple streams of work you're doing, resolving challenges, mitigating risks, and working through dependencies while collaborating with internal partners to ensure turning points are met.

Conduct business acceptance and validation testing and to lead the team through various stages of the release cycle.
The Team
You will be a member of the Financial & Planning Reference Team in Core Wealth Platform Product Area. Your main focus will be providing data & business analysis support for all market data used in financial & planning reference data consumed across multiple wealth & advisory experience. In this role you will partner with a variety of vital team members including other teams within the Product Area, Wealth Digital Experiences, WI, Brokerage, FI, Wealth Technology partners and external market data vendors.
