Weiss Asset Management (WAM), a Boston-based investment firm, is seeking an experienced attorney to join our dynamic legal team and apply multiple areas of expertise to the diverse business challenges of a global hedge fund. The right candidate will want to engage in multiple substantive areas and take on a wide variety of responsibilities, including regulatory advice, negotiation of transactions and agreements, investment-related legal advice, and general corporate work. Candidates should be curious and driven with a desire to learn about all aspects of an investment firm.  

Responsibilities: 

  • At least 4 years of experience in some or all of the areas mentioned above 
  • Big law firm and/or asset management firm experience a plus 
  • Strong academic credentials and the desire to work with academically-oriented colleagues 
  • High ethical standards, attention to detail, strong interpersonal skills, quantitative reasoning ability, and a rigorous work ethic 

Base Salary: $220k-$270k base per year, plus bonus, depending on experience. Actual offer will reflect your specific skills, years of relevant experience, and fit for the role. It is unlikely that all new hires will start at the top of this range.
