ClickHouse is seeking an experienced commercial lawyer to join as an early member of ClickHouse’s elite and business-focused Legal team. You will be responsible for supporting ClickHouse’s Americas sales team in reviewing and negotiating customer agreements and providing legal support for ClickHouse’s revenue-generating activities. As we grow our commercial legal function, you will have opportunities to support APAC. You’ll be a trusted advisor and business enabler in a rapidly growing company while maintaining high standards for both legal practice and business ethics. You will report to ClickHouse’s Associate General Counsel.

What You Will Be Doing:
  • Become an important member of the commercial legal team responsible for supporting the go-to-market team by reviewing and negotiating ClickHouse’s customer contracts. Your primary focus will be supporting the Americas sales team, with opportunities to support APAC as we grow the commercial legal function. 
  • Cultivate strong relationships with the Americas sales team and act as a solutions-oriented business partner to ClickHouse’s Americas sales team by providing pragmatic, sound legal counsel.
  • Lead complex cross-border transactions with sophisticated counterparties located across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Monitor and advise on relevant regulatory, compliance or legal developments impacting the business in the Americas region, and partner with the broader Legal team and cross-functional stakeholders where required.
  • Provide training and enablement to internal stakeholders on legal issues and contract processes.
  • Help maintain and update our legal agreements, policies, and templates; develop and improve scalable workflows to enable rapid revenue growth and stability for the company.
What You Bring Along: 
  • Law degree and member in good standing in the US; international legal experience (especially APAC) is a big plus. 
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience practicing both with a law firm and in-house at a high growth technology company.
  • Proven experience drafting, negotiating and closing complex commercial software and SaaS agreements with enterprise customers, partners, and resellers across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Strong understanding of commercial legal issues related to SaaS and software licensing (i.e., data privacy, security, intellectual property, open-source, revenue recognition, and tax), professional services and other go-to-market programs (such as partner/reseller programs). 
  • Excellent judgement, strong business orientation and ability to translate legal risk into practical commercial advice within the context of business objectives.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and management skills; ability to build trust and strong relationships with ClickHouse’s sales team, cross-functional stakeholders, and ClickHouse’s customers. 
  • Exceptional attention to detail, strong organisational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a high-growth environment.

The typical starting salary for this role in the US is
$208,350$228,600 USD
The typical starting salary for this role in US Premium Markets is
$231,500$254,000 USD
Compensation

For roles based in the United States, the typical starting salary range for this position is listed above. In certain locations, such as Los Angeles, CA, the San Francisco Bay Area, CA, the Seattle, WA, Area, and the New York City Metro Area, a premium market range may apply, as listed.

These salary ranges reflect what we reasonably and in good faith believe to be the minimum and maximum pay for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation may be higher or lower than the amounts listed, and the ranges may be subject to future adjustments.

An individual’s placement within the range will depend on various factors, including (but not limited to) education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, location, performance, and the needs of the business or organization.
