A Day in the LifeHelp lead the effort to create global strategies for worldwide medical device approvals to introduce new products to market. The Senior Contract Analyst is responsible for executing high-quality clinical agreements in a timely manner that balances the needs of all parties while maintaining internal and external relationships. In this role, you will be drafting, issuing, negotiating and finalizing a variety of clinical agreements (including budgets) utilizing enterprise-wide contracting processes.All clinical agreement work will be done in accordance with company policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), legal and regulatory requirements, and using fair market valuation.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
- Clinical Contracting & Negotiation: Manages complex clinical contract negotiations independently using approved templates and legal-approved language; escalates issues as needed and collaborates with internal stakeholders (legal, clinical teams, manager) to ensure alignment. Applies a comprehensive understanding of contracting principles and industry standards to draft, review, and finalize contracts effectively
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Liaises with cross-functional teams including clinical, legal, reimbursement, and other departments to facilitate agreement development and informed consent processes, ensuring alignment with internal policies and study requirements
- Fair Market Value (FMV) Analysis & Budget Support: Conducts FMV analysis to support clinical study budget development, documentation, and negotiations, ensuring compliance with regulatory and financial standards
- Outsourcing & Vendor Management: Leads proposal preparation, vendor selection analysis, contract development and administration, and manages supplier relationships to ensure proper contract execution and fulfillment for outsourced services
- Contract Tracking & Communication: Tracks and updates the status of contract activities, compiles and analyzes contract data, maintains historical records, and regularly communicates progress to internal and external stakeholders, including senior management
- Project & Time Management: Proactively manages multiple contracting priorities to align with clinical study milestones. Demonstrates strong time management, adaptability, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills to ensure timely execution of contracts with minimal supervision
- Process Improvement & Leadership: Identifies opportunities to improve contracting processes, leads approved improvement initiatives, and provides recommendations and updates to management. May serve as project lead for studies and mentors peers as appropriate.
Required Knowledge and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 4 years working with contracts and/or contract negotiation experience or advanced degree (e.g. JD, Masters) with a minimum of 2 years working with contracts and/or contract negotiation experience
- Experience supporting clinical research or similar experience in a medical/scientific area and good Clinical Practices (GCP) background
- Vendor agreement and management experience and experience working in a matrix environment with proven cross-functional experience
- Previous experience in customer-facing role and project Management experience
- Experience with Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
