Senior Content Strategist 

 

Join Merkle's growing content strategy team! As a senior content strategist, you will strategically align client business leaders and teams by guiding the creation, distribution, and governance of content for the best customer experiences. You will also help grow the content strategy practice by establishing tools, documenting best practices, and providing strategic points-of-view to improve the value of content strategy in experience design. 

 

We are looking for an experienced content strategist who will work with clients to enhance website and platform content hierarchies, increase content organization, and build relationships between content by developing global taxonomies and tagging systems. 

 

Job Location: Remote (East coast preferred) 

Main Responsibilities: 

  • Content Audits and Gap Analysis: Conduct audits to evaluate the effectiveness of current content structures and perform gap analyses to identify areas for improvement. 

  • Content Strategy: Partner with UX designers, SEO specialists and other partners to ensure the taxonomy aligns with the content strategy vision. 

  • Taxonomy Development and Management: Develop, and govern taxonomies and ontologies to improve content indexing, tagging, and retrieval processes. 

  • Partner Engagement: Collaborate with several teams, including marketing, research, and product development, to understand content needs and align content strategy with user and team goals. 

  • Training and Support: Provide training and support to content creators and content managers on the use of taxonomies and best practices for content tagging and organization. 

  • Trend Analysis: Stay up to date on digital and industry trends to ensure the content strategy practice remains relevant. 

Summary of expectations: 

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and 5+ years of experience in a strategic content role within an agency or financial services environment 

  • Experience with taxonomy development  

  • Develop POVs, create compelling decks and communicate with clients your vision 

  • Familiarity with content management systems and digital asset management tools 

  • Insurance experience is a plus  

 

The annual salary range for this position is $82,500 - $120,000 annually. We base placement within the salary range on a variety of factors, including relevant experience, and other factors permitted by law.
