Torch Technologies has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Configuration Manager providing support to the Air Force Information Dominance System Center (AFIDSC/HB) at Hanscom AFB, MA.  The Air Force Program Execution Office (AFPEO/HB) has the collective Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC) mission responsibility to manage and execute the modernization, development, testing, production, fielding, and sustainment of the PEO Information Dominance System Center portfolio, which includes over 130 programs for the United States Air Force (USAF) and foreign allies. AFLIDSC is headquartered at Hanscom Air Force Base, MA with geographically separated operating units CONUS and OCONUS.

As a Senior Configuration Manager, your duties include, but not limited to: 

  • Oversee CM for all program artifacts, including configuration identification, change control, and status accounting.

  • Implement and manage CM plans, ensuring compliance and integrity of design baselines.

  • Convene and support Configuration Control Boards (CCBs), recording approved changes and tracking Change Requests.

  • Support engineering assessments and maintain accurate documentation for audits such as PCA and FCA.

  • Track and manage data deliverables, discrepancies, and problem reports.

  • Collaborate with program management, systems engineers, and quality managers to ensure alignment in an integrated product team environment.

  • Provide guidance on CM plans for software, hardware, and IT systems.

  • Maintain CM libraries and repositories, ensuring licensing, packaging, and delivery of software.

  • Audit IT system configurations and manage baselines, including updates and releases.

  • Prepare for and support major reviews and audits, including design reviews and technical interchange meetings.

  • Document findings, action items, and resolutions from assessments and reviews.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a professional engineering discipline from an accredited educational program and at least 12 years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, 5 of which must be in the DoD.

  • CM experience within the DoD environment

  • Experience performing hardware and software configuration audits

  • Experience performing the technical administrative activities necessary to manage CM tools for inventory control, version control, data duplication, and media labeling.

  • Experience producing release notes and CM reports

  • Understanding of the configuration change control process, the role of the CCB, and change control documentation

  • Experience performing baseline administrative activities for multiple environments

  • Experience developing briefings for management

  • Understanding of all phases of the software development life cycle

  • Ability to enter and manipulate data in a database (i.e Lifecycle Management Process, Microsoft Access, Sharepoint)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a professional engineering discipline from an accredited educational program along with at least 10 years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, 5 of which must be in the DoD

Salary Range (only if required**):  $110,000 - $120,000

The salary range information is a general guideline only.  Several factors can influence the salary for a position including but not limited to, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, geographic location, business considerations, scope and responsibilities of the position, local or other applicable market conditions, and internal equity. Other factors include the candidate’s qualifications such as relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education/training, and certifications.
