Drive Strategic Compensation Excellence in a High-Growth, Global Organization

We’re looking for a forward-thinking, strategic leader to join our team as a Principal Compensation Strategist, specializing in Sales Compensation within our FlyWheel pillar. This role is not just about managing compensation programs—it’s about shaping the future of rewards at HubSpot, driving innovation, and influencing business outcomes.

Your Impact:

As a key member of the People Leadership team, you will be a trusted advisor to executives and business leaders, leveraging data-driven insights and market intelligence to design cutting-edge, scalable compensation strategies that align with our company’s ambitious growth objectives.

This is a high-impact role that will require you to think beyond traditional compensation structures. You will design and execute transformative compensation models that drive performance, fuel motivation, and attract world-class sales talent—ensuring HubSpot remains an industry leader in Total Rewards.

What You’ll Own & Drive:

  • Drive the Future of Sales Compensation – Partner in the development of a progressive, high-impact sales compensation strategy that aligns with business growth, market trends, and evolving workforce needs.
  • Be a Strategic Business Partner – Build deep partnerships with Sales Operations, Finance, HRBPs, and Executive Leadership, influencing decisions and ensuring compensation programs fuel long-term success.
  • Innovate & Scale Compensation Models – Partner with Sales Operations team to drive creative compensation solutions, including:
    • Best-in-class OTE structures (base + variable pay models)
    • Dynamic accelerator programs that drive top performance
    • Strategic SPIFF incentives to motivate and retain top talent
  • Leverage Data & Market Intelligence – Utilize advanced analytics, benchmarking, and industry insights to shape competitive, equitable, and sustainable compensation programs.
  • Enhance Total Rewards Strategy – Collaborate on broader Total Rewards initiatives, reinforcing our compensation philosophy, pay equity, and HubSpot’s talent retention strategies.
  • Guide Organizational Compensation Strategy – Lead or contribute to key global initiatives such as job architecture, long-term incentives, compensation analytics, and evolving pay equity programs.

What You Bring to the Table:

  • Deep expertise in global compensation strategy, with a strong focus on sales compensation in high-growth, publicly traded companies.
  • Proven success in designing and implementing incentive programs that align with business goals, drive sales productivity, and enhance talent retention.
  • Exceptional analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights and executive-level recommendations.
  • Strong communication and storytelling skills—able to simplify complex concepts and influence key stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience working with HRIS systems (Workday preferred), compensation analytics tools, and industry benchmarking data.
  • A passion for total rewards, equity, and innovative compensation practices that align with a rapidly scaling organization.

Cash compensation range: 177000-283000 USD Annually

The cash compensation above includes base salary, on-target commission for employees in eligible roles, and annual bonus targets under HubSpot’s bonus plan for eligible roles. In addition to cash compensation, some HubSpotters are eligible to participate in HubSpot’s equity plan to receive restricted stock units (RSUs). Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay. Individual compensation packages are based on a few different factors unique to each candidate, including their skills, experience, qualifications and other job-related reasons.
