This position is with Wise Path Recovery Centers and will be responsible for supporting our West Virginia based substance use disorder treatment centers located in Williamson, Morgantown and a 2nd location coming to Morgantown in the fall 2026.

The Sr Community Relations & Business Development Representative position is responsible for increasing referrals and acting as a liaison between the company and the community and potential clients. The team member is a self-starter who works independently to fill their schedule with visits to referral sources. The representative will develop long standing relationships with Individuals from all levels of various referral organizations.

Accountabilities

  • Support behavioral health program initiatives through outreach activities
  • Develops and grows professional relationships with senior executives, medical professionals, and other key decision makers of prospective referral sources
  • Maintains a regular servicing schedule that organizes a balance of referral partner maintenance and new business development.
  • Effectively converts an inquiry to a rescue by managing the referral and admissions process.
  •  Understands the geographic area for potential referral opportunities
  • Assists in the development of marketing/PR materials that will be utilized for building/maintaining relationships for the geographic area
  • Work with network of professionals and follow-up weekly with data and feedback
  • Arranging meetings with clients and carrying out facility tours
  • Working closely with supervisor and treatment facility leadership to develop new business.
  • Develop and/or participates in seminars and campaigns for the benefit of obtaining prospective referral resources
  • Identify barriers associated with client access to services
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Knowledge

  • Ability to work as a member of a team as well as independently
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules or policy & procedure manuals
  • Demonstrate proficiency in verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
  •  Ability to be flexible in relation to department needs
  • Has a general understanding of treatment modalities, levels of care, and industry best practices for treating substance use and co-occurring disorders.

Education, Experience, Skills

  • BA or BS in a human service, healthcare, business field or equivalent work experience preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in a sales or business development position
  • Substance Use Disorder or Mental Health experience strongly preferred
  • Experience in healthcare field preferred

Work Conditions and Physical Requirements

  • Work Setting: Indoors, environmentally controlled
  • Body Positioning: Spend time sitting and standing, making repetitive motions, and spend time using hands to handle, control or feel objects, tools or controls. Frequently lift or move up to 10 lbs and occasionally lift or move up to 50 lbs
  • Dress: must dress appropriately
  • Communication: Contact with others, electronic mail, in-person discussions, public speaking, telephone, video
