About this role:

Liftoff is currently seeking a Senior Commercial Operations Specialist who will own the development of Liftoff’s quote-to-order operations from the ground up. They will work cross-functionally with Operations, Billing, and Legal teams to provide quoting and deal structure support to our Global Sales team.  This requires strategic, process-driven, and proficient operational skills to ensure sales teams are equipped with the knowledge to execute customer contracts and secure the best possible terms for Liftoff.

The Commercial Operations Specialist will be part of the Finance & Accounting Organization and report directly to the Senior Director of Financial Operations. Responsibilities:

  • Partner with legal and route customer and vendor contracts for final signatures and ensure proper commercial review and approval.
  • Collaborate closely with the Deal Desk to review non-standard deal terms, support pricing and approvals, and ensure operational alignment between Sales, Legal, and Finance throughout the contracting lifecycle.
  • Analyze and document existing processes and develop strategies to enhance efficiency while eliminating bottlenecks in our sales cycle.
  • Training and enablement; become the POC for our Sales and CS teams on our contracting process and drive adoption of our systems and commercial playbook.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Legal, and Business systems on pain-points in our operations and work on enhancements that will streamline our quote-to-cash.
  • Facilitate discussions with Business Systems on future state technology and automation for quote-to-order and become the business owner of the CLM system.
  • Drive adherence to internal controls, protocols, and business rules from Legal, Deal Desk, and accounting.
  • Partner with billing to review data contained in all customer contracts, amendments, and termination documents to ensure translation into FinOps systems.
  • Partner with Rev-Ops on data quality and hygiene within Salesforce, ensuring best practices for data entry, maintenance, and reporting.
  • Manage contract depository and reconcile on a bi-annual basis leading up to the year-end audit.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience, including related processes such as Sales/GTM/Revenue operations and deal desk.
  • 5+ years of progressive responsibilities in the tech industry.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience with Salesforce, Docusign, Ironclad, or other leading CLM or GTM platforms is a plus.
  • Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced, innovative environment, including ability to remain flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient while interacting with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience in solving multiple and complex challenges through critical thinking and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Well-developed quantitative and analytical skills.
  • Extremely organized with good project management skills.
  • Comfortable with creating new processes from scratch.
  • Deep attention to detail, deadline driven, with proficient organizational skills, and understands big picture concepts.
  • Senior presence with a mindful and articulate communication style, adaptable to the audience.

Location:

This role is eligible for full-time remote work in one of our Pacific or Mountain Timezone entities: CA, CO, ID, NV, OR, UT, and WA.

We are a remote-first company with US hubs in Redwood City, Los Angeles, and New York City.

Travel Expectations:

We offer several opportunities for in-person team gatherings, including but not limited to project meetings, regional meetups, and company-wide events. We expect our employees to attend these gatherings at least once per quarter. These gatherings provide essential opportunities for collaboration, communication, and team building.

Compensation:

Liftoff offers all employees a full compensation package that includes equity and health/vision/dental benefits associated with your country of residence. Base compensation will vary based on the candidate's location and experience.

The following are our base salary ranges for this role: 

  • SF Bay Area, Los Angeles/Orange County, NYC, Seattle: $96,000 to $106,000 plus bonus
  • All other California and Washington state locations, Denver, Portland: $88,320 to $97,520 plus bonus 
  • All other locations in our approved states: $82,560 to $91,160 plus bonus

Liftoff's compensation strategy includes competitive market rate along with equity and benefits and perks that will give our employees what they need to do their best work. In order to ensure teams are compensated fairly for the work performed, we map out specific levels and take into consideration the cost of labor within each location. Liftoff provides employees a total compensation package of competitive market salaries, equity, health and wellness stipends, medical benefits associated with your country of residence. The base compensation will vary based on location, experience as well as level.
