About the job
This role exposes you to a wide variety of client environments across all cloud providers, on premise deployments and everything in between. If the idea of driving best practices in the observability/SRE space to provide direct business impact excites you then this is the role for you!
This role will be based in our Boston office, with an expectation of coming into the office Tuesday-Thursday each week.
What you'll do
Serve as a technical manager and player-coach, leading project teams while remaining deeply hands-on with solution design and implementation
Manage and execute client engagements end-to-end, owning technical direction, delivery quality, and outcomes
Develop and maintain high-quality configurations and automation using YAML, JSON, and custom tooling
Build, operate, and evolve cloud and on-prem observability solutions across Infrastructure, APM, and Logs
Analyze and modify application code to support tracing, logging, and monitoring integrations
Write and maintain custom scripts and utilities in shell, Python, PowerShell, or similar languages
Manage, mentor, and support engineers on project teams, providing technical guidance, feedback, and code/configuration reviews
Collaborate directly with clients and internal stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions
What you have
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in Computer Science or a related field
Strong systems administration experience with Linux/Unix in cloud and/or on-prem environments
Experience managing technical project teams while contributing as an individual engineer
Ability to balance multiple concurrent projects and lead technical execution
Strong problem-solving skills and a self-driven approach to learning new technologies
Experience with modern observability platforms and scripting/programming languages (Datadog, Python, Go, shell, PowerShell a plus)
Willingness to work from our Boston office three days a week (Tuesday–Thursday)
Compensation:
Base Salary: $160,000-$190,000 annually, depending on experience
