Job Overview:
The Sr. Cloud Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud infrastructure systems for LPL Financials. This position requires experience with cloud providers such as AWS or Azure and expertise in virtualization technologies like VMware vSphere and Microsoft Hyper-V. The ideal candidate will also possess knowledge of networking protocols like TCP/IP and DNS along with experience working with container orchestration tools like Docker Swarm or Kubernetes. Additionally, the successful applicant must demonstrate excellent communication skills both written and verbal along with strong problem solving abilities.
Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, monitor, troubleshoot, and support private and public clouds

  • Automate provisioning of compute instances, storage volumes, databases, networks, security groups, etc. using configuration management tools such as Terraform or Chef

  • Develop scripts to automate deployment of applications within the cloud environment

  • Manage capacity planning by analyzing system logs to identify bottlenecks and optimize resource utilization

  • Collaborate closely with DevOps teams to ensure smooth operation of production environments

  • Maintain compliance with industry regulations related to data privacy and security

  • Provide technical assistance to end users when needed

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent field preferred

  • Experience working with cloud providers such as AWS or Azure

  • Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, Ruby, Bash, etc.

  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

  • Demonstrated problem-solving ability


 

Pay Range:

$101,700-$169,500/year
 
Actual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
