This position requires passing a ServiceNow background screening, USFedPASS (US Federal Personnel Authorization Screening Standards). This includes a credit check, criminal/misdemeanor check and taking a drug test. Any employment is contingent upon passing the screening. For positions in this location, we offer a base pay of $126,700 - $215,400, plus equity (when applicable), variable/incentive compensation and benefits. We also offer health plans, including flexible spending accounts, a 401(k) Plan with company match, ESPP, matching donations, a flexible time away plan and family leave programs. What you get to do in this role:
- Manage, monitor, and manipulate the server farm behind ServiceNow's cloud.
- Drive immediate relief and provide a sustainable resolution to issues within the ServiceNow platform.
- Work directly on/with the servers to enable and optimize capacity utilization for ServiceNow's customer base.
- Use knowledge and experience in software development, application support, systems engineering and networking to proactively prevent issues from reoccurring.
- Drive internal stakeholders and partner teams to improve the reliability, scalability and performance of the infrastructure through improved system design.
- Drive and contribute to a culture of intolerance to manual activity, which results in an automation environment delivering repeatable and scalable response to system issues.
- Work directly on/with the servers to enable and optimize capacity utilization for ServiceNow's customer base.
- Enhance processes and tools necessary to simplify and provide consistent project execution.
- Provide proactive management and innovation to ensure 100% success of ServiceNow cloud automation.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role you have:
- Experience in leveraging or critically thinking about how to integrate AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving. This may include using AI-powered tools, automating workflows, analyzing AI-driven insights, or exploring AI's potential impact on the function or industry.
- 5+ years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 3 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience.
- Experience in DNS/DHCP and PXE boot kickstart process and bare metal/rack deployments.
- Solid knowledge of virtualization and container technologies.
- Linux System Admin skills preferably working knowledge of Centos and RedHat.
- Basic understanding of enterprise-class server hardware eg. Dell.
- Basic understanding of storage concepts such as NFS, and iSCSI.
- Develop BASH or Python scripts to perform repetitive operation tasks.
- Intermediate to deep understanding of service and components of enterprise cloud capacity operations.
- Experience in fast-paced operations and engineering environments.
- Collaborate with partner teams to develop automation strategies and deployment processes.
- Proven track record of taking ownership and driving results.
- Team collaboration and fit are essential.
Would be nice to have:
- Experience with OpenStack
- Basic understanding of ServiceNow asset management.
- Storage configuration concepts configuration and experience.
- Intermediate to advanced network troubleshooting skills.
- Understanding of Puppet configuration management.
- Good to have API development, Ansible, Python, Linux shell scripting, and PowerShell.
- Experience with the ServiceNow Platform is a bonus.
