We currently have an opportunity for a Senior Claims Specialist.

Overview:

Responsible for servicing assigned accounts on a regular basis and ensuring the highest level of customer service. Responsibilities include work related to assigned specific specialty teams based on training, background, and expertise. Developing client relationships is the key to a successful outcome.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides advocacy for small, middle market, and high-profile clients by reporting claims.
  • Participate in the claim after hours program as part of the servicing team.
  • Provide follow-up with claim acknowledgments and adjuster assignments.
  • Refer to emergency restoration service contractors/ and or adjusters as needed on property losses.
  • Inputs general claim information in agency management system and diary appropriately for status.
  • Notifies management of large loss activity in accordance with procedures.
  • Acts as in-house resource and communicates proactively with clients, production and service staff, claims team and management.
  • Directly handles most Commercial Lines claims activity and reports to the appropriate insurer in accordance with insurer guidelines and HUB procedure.
  • Communicates verbally and via email with insurance company claim adjusters till resolution of claim.
  • Determines which Policy applies to claim circumstances and reports potential claims to the appropriate carrier.
  • Reviews carrier coverage position correspondence and concur/ dispute appropriately.
  • Navigates the various insurance company online claims websites and databases to obtain information.
  • Schedule and coordinate claim review meetings with the carrier and Insured as needed.
  • Help mentor team associates and training as assigned by Manager/ Director
  • Attend claim reviews/ meetings with the client and carriers as requested internally and outside the office when needed.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by Manager.

Qualifications:

  • Over 5-10 years of experience in claim handling / insurance experience.
  • Advanced knowledge in areas such as property / liability or other niche industries.
  • Ability to analyze complex coverage issues, liability, and damages to determine exposure.
  • Proficient with Excel and Word products preparing spreadsheets / reports.
  • Effectively communicates with insureds, brokers, underwriters, and legal counsel.
  • Works autonomously and holds significant responsibility for decision-making within their authorized limits.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.

The expected salary range for this position is $73,000 - $80,000 and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope and level. HUB International is proud to offer comprehensive benefit and total compensation packages: health/dental/vision/life/disability insurance, FSA, HSA and 401(k) accounts, paid-time-off benefits such as vacation, sick, and personal days, and eligible bonuses, equity and commissions for some positions.
