The Senior Claims Data Analyst will play a pivotal role in transforming raw claims data into actionable insights that drive strategic decisions within our organization. This role is responsible for retrieving and compiling large and complex datasets from various claims systems, databases and external sources. This position involves understanding data structures, ensuring data integrity and implementing efficient data extraction processes. The role will involve cleaning, validating, and transforming raw data to ensure accuracy, consistency, and suitability for analysis; including identifying and resolving data quality issues, handling missing data and standardizing data formats. The Analyst will translate complex data findings into clear, concise and visually appealing reports, dashboards, and presentations. They will work closely with cross-functional teams.
How You’ll Do ItManage Data Extraction and Management
- Conduct data quality audits and work with IT to resolve data discrepancies.
- Documenting analytical methodologies and reporting processes.
- Gather and interpret complex datasets related to insurance claims, policies, and customer profiles.
- Ensure data integrity by cleaning, validating, and maintaining large claims databases.
- Develop and implement data improvement strategies in collaboration with IT teams.
Develop Reporting and Visualizations
- Develop and maintain manual and automated reports on key claim metrics.
- Create and maintain dashboards and reports to provide insights to stakeholders and management.
- Utilize data visualization tools (e.g.,Looker, Excel) to present claims trends and patterns.
- Prepare comprehensive reports identifying key performance indicators and operational risks.
- Automate reporting processes to streamline data accessibility and improve decision-making.
Manage Claims Analytics and Reporting
- Perform deep-dive analysis on specific claim types or loss events to identify contributing factors and potential mitigation strategies.
- Perform statistical analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and predictive insights in claims data.
- Evaluate claims processing effectiveness and recommend data-driven solutions.
- Monitor and assess the impact of regulatory changes on claims data and reporting.
Communication and Collaboration with Internal and External Teams
- Participate in cross-functional projects aimed at improving claims operations.
- Communicate findings to non-technical stakeholders through clear and actionable insights.
- Support cross-functional initiatives by integrating claims data into broader business strategies.
- Partner with claims adjusters and fraud investigators to enhance claims accuracy and fraud prevention.
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- 3+ years Technical Skills with demonstrated experience building data visualization tools and reporting.
- 3+ years Quantifying, measuring, and analyzing claim data.
- 2+ years Claim systems/process knowledge and experience.
- Working knowledge of claims processes and general requirements.
- Ability to communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical teams.
- Ability to troubleshoot issues and resolve problems effectively.
- Strong understanding of Reporting systems, Data Visualization Tools and claims applications.
- Ability to work effectively with others in a team environment.
- Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and recommend solutions.
