You will join a growing oncology-focused Data Sciences function and provide statistical support across Phase I–III oncology studies within our expanding portfolio. The Senior Biostatistician contributes to the design, analysis, interpretation, and reporting of oncology clinical trials and serves as a key statistical contributor for assigned studies throughout the clinical development lifecycle.

With a particular focus on biomarker, translational, and precision medicine analyses, the Senior Biostatistician collaborates closely with Clinical Development, Translational Medicine, Data Sciences, Statistical Programming, and external partners to deliver high-quality statistical solutions throughout the drug development lifecycle. 

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the design and statistical aspects of clinical trial protocols, including study objectives, endpoints, estimands, analysis populations, and key statistical considerations.
  • Contribute to the development of statistical analysis plans, mock TLFs, and data review outputs that support study objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop, validate, and execute statistical analyses and contribute to the interpretation of study results.
  • Generate, review, and interpret tables, listings, figures (TLFs), and other outputs supporting study reporting, regulatory submissions, and scientific communications.
  • Support analyses of predictive, prognostic, pharmacodynamic, and other biomarker data to inform development decisions and patient selection strategies.
  • Integrate and interpret clinical, biomarker, and exploratory data to support evidence generation and study decision-making.
  • Ensure statistical deliverables adhere to CDISC standards (SDTM, ADaM).
  • Contribute to the preparation, review, interpretation, and communication of statistical results for clinical study reports, regulatory submissions, publications, and other key scientific deliverables.
  • Collaborate with clinical, data management, and programming teams throughout the study lifecycle.
  • Contribute to the evaluation and appropriate use of AI-assisted tools, automation, and advanced analytics approaches that enhance statistical efficiency and insight generation. 


This role can be based in Cambridge (MA) or in Cambridge, UK and reports to Head of Biostatistics.

What are we looking for?

  • PhD or MS in Statistics, Biostatistics, or related field.
  • MS with approximately 4–8 years, or PhD with 2–5 years, of relevant experience in clinical development.
  • Experience supporting oncology clinical trials across multiple phases of development, including late-stage studies, is desirable.
  • Strong understanding of statistical methods and their application in drug development.
  • Proficiency in SAS (required); working knowledge of R.
  • Demonstrated interest in applying AI-enabled approaches to improve statistical workflows, data analysis efficiency, visualization, and decision support.

The expected annual salary range for this position is USD 100,000–180,000 for U.S.-based candidates, depending on skills, experience, and job-related qualifications. For UK-based candidates, compensation will be aligned with Orion’s salary range for the applicable grade.
