Job Summary

We are building an AI-powered personalization platform designed to revolutionize how audiences interact with news. This initiative will harness machine learning and generative AI to deliver dynamic, user-centric experiences—including intelligent story summarization across evolving news updates, personalized story tracking, and tailored content delivery via web, mobile, and notifications. The system is being developed on a modern, scalable cloud-based architecture to support real-time personalization at a global scale - that's why this Back-End Engineer is a key position to leverage the project.

Responsibilities
  • Build and expose APIs (Summarization, Follow Story, Catch-Up);

  • Integrate with Brightspot CMS (Publishing & Delivery);

  • Implement notification routing rules (OneSignal/Sailthru);

  • Ensure performance, reliability, and error handling.

Qualifications and Job Requirements
  • Experience with Java, especially in extending Brightspot CMS.

  • Proficient in Python, Node.js, or Java for backend development on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

  • Familiarity with GCP services: Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, Dataflow, and BigQuery.

  • Strong understanding of REST and GraphQL API design.

  • Comfortable working in modern, cloud-native development environments.
