The Senior Back-End Developer will redesign and reengineer Wagtail-based marketing sites, integrating with front-end teams and managing Google Cloud services with Python code.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Back-End Developer to join our team for a freelance engagement focused on redesigning and reengineering two major marketing sites. The role involves installing, configuring, and modifying Wagtail-based websites, as well as working with Google Cloud products and services, including configuration, deployments, and database management. Extensive experience with Python 3+ is essential.
Duration: August 13th – August 15th (50% capacity), starting full-time (100%) from August 18th to October 31st, 2025.
What You'll Do
- Install, configure, and modify Wagtail-based websites.
- Collaborate with front-end teams to ensure seamless integration and data flow across multi-site Wagtail builds.
- Work with Google Cloud services for configuration, deployment, and database management.
- Write efficient, scalable, and maintainable Python 3+ code.
- Ensure high availability, reliability, and security of the system and data.
What You'll Bring
- 5 years experience in back-end development
- Strong experience working with Wagtail, including installation, configuration, and modification of Wagtail-based websites.
- Proficiency with Python 3+, including writing complex back-end code for scalable applications.
- Familiarity with Google Cloud products and services, including deployment, configuration, and database management.
- Experience with database management and ensuring data integrity and performance.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team and integrate closely with front-end developers and designers.
Pay Range
- The expected pay range for this role is $50 - 84 per hour of US 3
- Our company has three regional pay bands that it adheres to depending on your location, we -reference them as US 1, US 2, and US 3.
- US 3 is our base pay. Examples of cities in US 3 are Portland, Houston and Miami.
- US 2 pay is 7.5% higher than US 3 to meet the market rates. Examples of cities in US 2 are Los Angeles, Chicago and Seattle.
- US 1 pay is 15% higher than US 3 to meet market rates. Examples of cities in US 1 are Brooklyn and San Francisco.
