Our tech provides ships and workboats the intelligence to operate autonomously and remotely, and which increases safety for maritime crews, and radically improves operator productivity.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Autonomy Engineer to join our Software team working on advanced autonomy for our marine products. The candidate will work closely with the user interface team, motion planning and controls team, and customer support team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop algorithms, ensuring safety and reliability for autonomous marine vessels.
- Develop, test, and integrate advanced software for marine vessel autonomy.
- Test and validate features through unit testing, simulation testing and hardware-in-loop testing.
- Implement features based on end-user requirements.
- Participate in field testing & trials.
- Work closely with customer support team and resolve customer issues.
- BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Robotics, or other related engineering field.
- 5+ years of experience in C++ and Python software development for commercial products.
- 5+ years of experience developing autonomy software in complex integrated dynamic hardware applications, e.g., path planning, obstacle avoidance, sensor fusion, map building, etc.
- Strong background in dynamic modeling, control theory, system identification and convex optimization.
- Experienced in full software life cycle development.
- Experience collaborating with other functional teams to seamlessly integrate software and hardware systems.
- Good communications skills (verbal and written), ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and convincingly.
- Comfortable with a fast-paced development schedule.
