The Sr. Automation Engineer is responsible for developing scalable, high-performance automation solutions using platforms such as Rockwell Automation PlantPAx to support new product development for the next generation of our equipment.

 

This position reports to the Sr. Manager, Automation and is part of the Automation Engineering team located in Marlborough, MA and will be an on-site role.

What you’ll do:

  • Generate detailed requirements for automation products to be developed utilizing Rockwell Automation PlantPAx DCS platform. 
  • Lead and perform the detailed design for the New Product Introduction. 
  • Develop as well as lead the activities of other’s in programming controllers, configuring SCADA/HMI applications, S-88 batch systems according to design and performance specifications. 
  • Establish process automation system test plans to determine compliance with functional and design requirements.
  • Design and author methods and processes to deploy, install, and configure customer specific control and network strategies. 

Who you are:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical, Electrical or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering) and at least 12 years of technical experience in biotechnology, pharmaceutical or equivalent automated process industries 
  • Experience in the programming of Rockwell PlantPAx DCS tools and components including Logix controllers, FT-View SCADA/HMI, FT-Batch and OSI/PI continuous historian. 
  • Comprehensive understanding and strong hands-on development experience of application development and system/hardware integration 

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • PLC/DCS/SCADA experience with Rockwell PlantPAx. 
  • Experience working with DevOps. 
  • Agile.
