Wayfair Professional’s North American Business-to-Business Sales (“B2B”) team is seeking a collaborative, analytical-oriented Associate to help drive Wayfair Professional’s B2B agenda. The role will be a part of the Territory planning team that will help execute the B2B strategy across North America. While our site and app experience allow for seamless self-service, our higher-value customers benefit from sales support. Sales teams establish relationships with purchasing decision-makers, educate customers about Wayfair’s assortment, services, and capabilities, and proactively reach out to intercept emerging needs to help them complete their orders and projects.

We seek a motivated Senior Associate who will partner with sales teams and internal enablement team members to optimize the sales process to consistently exceed sales targets and customer experience. This includes proactively partnering with sales and analytics teams to monitor performance, create action plans to improve performance, and execute medium/long-term program and channel-level project initiatives that improve customer and seller/agent experience and optimize workflows.

What You'll Do

  • Understand Business Trends: Gain deep qualitative and quantitative insights through "voice of seller" engagement and maintain a strong understanding of short and long-term KPI trends.

  • Drive Short-Term Performance Improvements:

    • Scope data requests for our analytics teams, interpreting results to validate qualitative feedback and understand business trends.

    • Develop clear, actionable short-term plans to address underperformance or accelerate positive trends, including defined asks, milestones, and deliverables.

    • Align with and alert partner teams to ensure effective execution.

    • Communicate progress and resolutions to both partner teams and sales members.

  • Lead Medium & Long-Term Initiatives:

    • Assist in scoping project initiatives, ensuring operational excellence through clear deliverables, resource allocation, timelines, and cross-functional involvement.

    • Drive project execution, meeting stage-gate milestones, preparing and delivering updates to senior sales leadership (L4+) and cross-functional teammates, and incorporating feedback.

    • Coordinate cross-functional teams and resources, strategically assessing and acting on tradeoffs across various business functions (e.g., sales programs, tech resources, marketing, operations).

  • Support Operational Efficiency: Collaborate with our offshore team to complete territory BSD tickets within service level targets.

What You'll Need:

  • Experience: 3-4 years of experience in sales enablement, project/program management, strategy & operations, consulting, or similar roles supporting Sales, Customer Service, or Marketing teams.

  • Stakeholder Management: Ability to understand and empathize with diverse stakeholders across functions, tailoring messaging and communication to ensure resonance. You can create consistent messaging about complex projects, adapting to audience needs while maintaining cohesion on objectives and guiding principles.

  • Problem-Solving: Proven ability to break down complex, ambiguous problems into logical objectives, translating sales needs into discrete, actionable steps for partner teams.

  • Collaboration: A strong passion for working collaboratively across functions to drive operational improvements and project success.

  • Process Management: Efficiently manage processes, scoping logical steps from ideation to project completion.

  • Analytical Skills: Ability to synthesize insights from data analysis and understand key trends.

  • Technical Proficiency: Experience with Salesforce.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
