The Research Department at Dimensional is integral both in the successful day-to-day functioning of the firm and in developing Dimensional’s long-term strategy. The team produces high-quality, thought-leadership research on investments and financial markets that is of interest to clients. The team also leads the development of the firm’s investment approach, the application of that approach through portfolio management and trading, and the implementation of technology solutions that make the investment process more efficient.   

Investment Analytics and Data (IAD) is part of the Research Department within Dimensional. Data and data analysis are the foundation of how Dimensional constructs and manages portfolios and works to provide the best investment experience possible for our clients. IAD is responsible for ownership of investment data, which means managing data from acquisition through distribution, driving analysis to create information from data, and creating the information and analysis consumed by internal and external reports. IAD is a hub group touching numerous areas of the implementation of the investment process and interacting with most other departments within Dimensional.  

The Portfolio Analytics team within IAD works with the Portfolio Management and Technology teams on the systems that implement Dimensional’s portfolios. 

The Portfolio Analytics team seeks a Senior Associate capable of supporting key initiatives underpinning our daily investment process. The work is team based and involves building systems and tools to support the creation and maintenance of our systems. Success in the role will mean being acutely aware of our development processes, delivery pipelines and support needs, and actively identifying opportunities for improvement. This position can be either hybrid in-office or fully remote. 

This role will require expert level front-end development skills, particularly with Angular -- both in design and execution.   

Responsibilities:

• Advance the performance, efficiency and readability of our front-end codebase. 

• Review our front-end architecture and make suggestions and help construct a technical backlog. 

• Implement features on the front-end and do technical design. 

• Help to optimize and clean up style sheets, node builds, and tests. 

• Write software in a collaborative environment, participate in code reviews and design sessions, and mentor junior team members. 

Must Have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.  

• Relevant Angular and/or React experience 

• Strong understanding of the latest CSS features and practices 

• Experience with Material design and Angular Material in particular. 

• Experience optimizing builds. 

• Experience with on-prem deployment technologies. 

• Analytical and problem-solving skills. 

• Intellectual curiosity combined with attention to detail. 

Exceptional Candidates will Display:

• Experience and interest in investments and the investment process. 

• Expertise using Ivy and Angular Builds. 

• UX and UI Design knowledge and experience. 

• Skills with FIGMA and wireframing.
