  • End-to-End Solution Design: Design and oversee the implementation of integrated solutions, ensuring seamless data flow and functionality across diverse systems (e.g., ERPs, CRMs, PIMs, OMS, payment gateways, marketing automation, content management systems)
  • Technical Guidance and Mentorship: Provide expert technical leadership and mentorship to cross-functional teams (strategy, UX, development, QA, DevOps) throughout the entire solution lifecycle, promoting architectural best practices, code quality, performance optimization, and platform capabilities
  • Subject Matter Expertise and Innovation: Act as a leading authority on various commerce and web technologies, continuously researching and evaluating emerging trends to bring innovative ideas and best practices to the team and clients
  • Performance, Security and Scalability: Champion the design and implementation of solutions that prioritize performance, robust security, high availability, and long-term scalability
  • Stakeholder Communication: Effectively communicate complex architectural concepts and tradeoffs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, fostering understanding and buy-in
Qualifications

    • Experience with various architectural patterns (e.g., event-driven, serverless).
  • Strong understanding of performance optimization techniques, security best practices, and SEO considerations for web applications.
  • Experience with composable commerce and MACH principles (Microservices, API-first, Cloud-native, Headless).
  • Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Relevant certifications in one or more leading platforms (e.g., Adobe Certified Expert, Salesforce B2C Solution Architect, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect).

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
